A second later, the advertisement finishes and begins playing live coverage of Sebastian Black, speaking to the press outside of the Black & Co. building.

October 22, 2002 – 00:45 A black cat walked through Lizzy’s backyard, and a bat stood on its head. It stopped by the backdoor and scratched it. Stephanie opened the backdoor and let them in. She wasn’t expecting that sight. She had never seen a bat in her entire life, and she had never seen Coralis in that form, but she admitted to herself that she did look like a mini-black panther. As soon as Stephanie closed the door behind them, Coralis and Veronica shifted back to their true form. Molly walked into the kitchen at that time.

"And when I realized who you were, I stayed quiet. Because I figured… you'd talk when you were ready." She looked up sharply. "You knew who I was?" I nodded slowly, keeping my voice steady. "Mia Black. Luna of the Silverstone Pack. Declared missing three weeks ago." Her face paled. "Missing?" I hesitated, heart thudding, but I had to stay in control. I couldn't let her know how much I truly knew. The politics between packs was delicate at best, dangerous at worst. And what had happened to her was far from simple territory disputes or bloodline rivalries—it was something darker, something that had the potential to change everything about werewolf hierarchy as we knew it.

My toothbrush. “Those are mine!” I growled, hatred blooming in my heart immediately. “Oh, you must be Theo… Theodore,” he whispered, testing out the name on his tongue. “I like it,” he whispered again with a smug smirk and a sinful grin that had a chill running down my spine. “Theo… meet your stepbrother. Hunter. And you both will be living together henceforth, while your mother and I move back to Italy.” Blake’s voice echoed amongst the hallway as my face paled of color while my world crashed instantly into darkness.

his voice switched from being dangerous to amused. I didn’t doubt that he could smell the arousal dripping from me. I couldn’t even try to deny it; this was indeed very attractive. And maybe I did want someone to walk in and see us, to see that even Silas was willing to get intimate with a human, someone he deemed below him. I was suddenly flipped around so I had my front pressing against the wall. Silas unbuckled his pants slowly. "We are step-siblings, you know. We... this is wrong..."

What I’m sorry about is the way she found out. "You’re sorry?" She scoffs as she finally stops before me, and she shoves me, jabbing the pointed finger into my shoulder. "Elizabeth, why? Why’d you do this? Why’d you commit this crime that’s not to be heard for? Out of all the guys you could have, it had to be your stepbrother?" I drop my head, unable to hold her gaze any longer as the tears rush down my cheeks, blurring my vision. She doesn’t understand. She wouldn’t understand.

Then black. Nothing.

Before Ella could retort back, the door once again opened and entered, Elias, with Stephan following behind him. "Hey Aunt El and Lena." Elias came forward, a small smile playing on his lips. I nodded back, blankly. "Is my room a freaking fish market?" "Yes, octopus, turtles live-" "Its time guys, we need to leave." Stephan intervened. His eyes momentarily connecting with mine. The same anger, pain and hurt swirled in his eyes just like every other man in this household held.

Those I had risked my life to protect, the family I had once cherished above all, all of them had betrayed me. This time, I would not make the same mistake. Richard stepped forward. Each stride was deliberate. His towering shadow fell over me, enveloping me. The air around us seemed to freeze. He did not say a word. He swung his hand with full force, slamming a harsh slap across my face. The slap sent me staggering, my lip tearing open, and blood flooding my mouth with a bitter, metallic taste.
