Her wolf itched beneath her skin, her power humming like a storm. She closed her eyes and whispered a prayer to the Moon Goddess. “Give me strength.” Behind her, footsteps. Kael. He slipped his arm around her waist. “We need to leave for the mountain by dawn. That’s where the Blade is.” “Will it work?” He kissed her temple. “We’ll make it work.” She leaned into him. “I’m scared.” “So am I.” They stood together in silence, wrapped in moonlight. Tomorrow, the final battle will begin.

“It’s not all bad!” I put my foot on her face, forcing her to face the view--- and laughed when I heard her terrified, muffled cries. We were at the edge of our territory, a huge cliff that we rarely patrolled because it was hard to access – and too close to a known rogue area. And while the view was lovely, the cliff’s edge was a sharp drop that plunged into a gorge so deep, it seemed to swallow light. The hill down looked like a jagged scar carved into the mountainside, sharp with the scent of stone and old, cold earth.

As he spoke, his eyes lit up like a diamond. The blade slashed the skin on her abdomen and tears welled up in her eyes. But, she made no sound. No tears, she reminded herself. But, it was impossible not to wince from the pain. Using the blade, he traced a path from her abdomen, past her chest and to her forehead. There, he began making precise markings, a jumble of alphabets and symbols. Unable to bear the pain anymore, tears slipped down her flushed cheeks. "Don't cry honey, you'll be out of your misery soon. Just a souvenir... "he chopped off her pinky finger and she let out a ear splitting scream ".... And, i'm done."

Soon, the terrain ahead began to change, and the flat landscape turned into high mountains. Countless peaks were rising from the ground. Blaze led everyone through the peaks and landed on a platform. This was originally a huge mountain formed by flattening it from the top. Therefore, it was very spacious. There were many mountain peaks around, all smaller than the ones below. After reaching the platform, Blaze took out something that looked like a conch, put it to his mouth, and blew on it. The sound was melodious but not loud. Yet it spread throughout the entire extraterritorial battlefield.

His expression is twisted with horror, eyes blinded. No. He thinks I’ve fallen. “Noel!” I scream out his name. And I see the split second where his expression shifts into confusion, then white terror as the snowline gives out underneath his weight. Thus, the scene implored on to be lost in countless wild and fanciful thoughts. Sunset Mountain did not simply refer to a hill; it was meant for the entire mountain range. Thus, there were numerous hills in West Suez, where Sunset Mountain happened to be the most significant hill in the region. If Tyr and the man in white entered such a mountain range without a map, they could spend a year and a half to find the exact location of Blade Hero’s tomb. “Hey, pass me that half of the map of yours!” the man in white said as he took out his cell phone and switched on the Bluetooth.

I could still feel him, I didn’t know if it was real or if I was imagining it because the alternative was too painful. The mountain path to the Edge was not on any map. It lived between folds of mist, only visible to those who knew how to want it badly enough. We followed it in silence, the weight of him in my arms and Finnick at my side. Hours passed or maybe days. We reached the Edge as the stars blinked out one by one. It was not a cliff or a portal. It was a void stitched by golden thread, wide and deep, the color of bone-fire and ancient dusk.

Blade's POV I stood on a high ridge, hidden among the dark trees. The snow fell lightly around me. I had changed into tight black hunting clothes. The fabric fit my body perfectly … strong but flexible. It let me move fast and quiet through the frozen woods. My black hair was tied back. My gray eyes scanned the distance. I could see Calla’s group far below. They had built a new secure spot on another ridge. Small fires glowed and they moved carefully. They were learning.
