" Blake hurriedly left, ignoring everyone. Cecilia signaled her bodyguards to discreetly follow Blake. When Blake entered the elevator, she fainted. "Blake!" Cecilia rushed over with a complex expression, but her bodyguards were quicker, preventing the elevator doors from closing. Liam moved to help Blake, but Cecilia intervened, "You don't need to do anything more. I will take her home. Mr. Xander, you should return to your duties. I was considering shutting down StartReading Literature, but for Blake's sake, I'll give you more time." Liam argued, "She should return to her family."

I found myself standing there, frozen a moment longer than I intended, my eyes glued to the little rack by the register. The keychain hung there, seemingly innocent, catching the fluorescent lights just right—the tiny silver sword along with the intricately painted dragon that curled around it, a perfect replica of the one wielded by Kaelen Stormblade in the Chronicles of the Ashen Throne series I couldn’t stop reading when I was younger. I’d been wanting something like that for ages, ever since the third book tore my heart apart in the best way possible. It was kind of ridiculous how much a simple piece of metal and enamel could send a thrill of excitement rippling through me.

Chapter 8: The Weight of Questions Even though vampires were supposed to be ancient—centuries-old predators who’d watched empires rise and fall—the four queens of BludHeaven were anomalies. Each one frozen at nineteen, their bodies locked in the bloom of late adolescence while their minds carried the weight of lives far longer than their faces suggested. The school had been carved into four wings after the Integration Accords: North for Seraphina Locke’s tech-infused domain, East for Liora Kane’s shadowed artistic realm, South for Ravenna Slade’s raw kinetic territory, and West—Elara Voss’s domain—where the gothic cowgirl ruled with a drawl and a silver spur.

The crowd roared, some cheering for The Wrecking Ball to land a knockout punch, others gasping at Elijah’s agility. The match wore on, a brutal ballet of pain and endurance. Elijah’s ribs ached from a punishing body blow, and a cut above his eye dripped a steady stream of blood, blurring his vision. He could feel the exhaustion setting in, but the image of his sister’s face fueled him. He had to win.

He stepped closer to the doctor, "I will have every healer's license revoked. I will burn this building to the ground if I have to." She sighed and turned to her computer. When Blake read the reports, he made a sound, something between a laugh and a sob. His legs gave out. He slid down the wall and sat on the floor, his hands pressed against his chest. His wolf went silent. "There's something else you should know," I said. He looked up at me with hollow eyes. "Elena has already undergone the Soul-Severing Ritual." "No." He shook his head. "No, that's not—"

he said flatly. “Then get it,” Liam said, casual, barely glancing up. But Blake’s eyes, when they finally landed on him, were sharp with something ugly. Liam didn’t notice — he was looking down at his phone — but I did. I saw it building, that flash of anger with nowhere to go. And then, as Blake reached for the book, quick and deliberate while Liam’s attention was elsewhere, he swung it hard into the side of Liam’s face — straight into his nose.

"Oliver told me about that girl you've been seeing, the pretty brunette who looks a lot like me." Is Oliver blind?! Seeing Bex again is tearing a hole into my being. I don't want her here. I hate her. I just want her gone. Forever. "The fact that you're still talking to Oliver is all I need to know about you," I reply in a low tone, now angry.

My reasoning is because I was focusing on finishing off high school, had to deal with graduation and family matters, and most of all I was unmotivated and I have been. Yes, I know it sounds like an excuse but I'd rather write Blinded when I'm motivated rather than write crappy chapters that I don't enjoy writing. So for the month of June, I'm going to take a break from writing, find some sort of motivation, and overall figure out what direction I want Blinded to go. So for right now, it is a goodbye unit next month. Sorry for the delay. -L.N.F

"I'm not a mind-reader, Blake! Spell it out for me, please." Blake growls before turning to me with this tormented smile. "I'm gay, okay? Hayden is my mate!" What. The. Actual. Fuck. My eyes are bulging out from their sockets. "H-Hayden?" Damn, are my boy and boy fantasies coming true? Shit. I pinch my cheek, smiling like a fool when I don't wake up in my bed. Shit is real!

My one choice would decide the fate of this island. I felt a strange feeling holding me and could hear the screams. It was a calling. Someone was begging me for help. Tugging at my hair, I peeked inside the book. In Pages, a lady seemed to be working on a design with her child wrapped against her back. The little one with shiny eyes was dreaming while holding her mom tightly. I could feel the warmth of her smile. Nerves get on me when I put my hand on the page. The light penetrated my body. Within moments, I felt a drastic change in my surroundings.
