Glee stared at the yellow scrap of paper in her hands, her purse over one arm, mouth a tight line. She looked at George slumping in his recliner, Blondie at rest but alert on the Oriental rug below, one forepaw curled under. Glee closed her fists into claws and mangled the notepaper.
“Think,” she said again.
“I couldn’t see,” replied George, holding his head, “already told you. It’s all a blank. I was nearly unconscious.”
