He didn't just retire, Molly. He vanished. No forwarding address, no record of where he went, no mention of him in any of the local census. It’s like he just... stopped existing. Be careful. Cohen flipped open the file and looked at the summarized report. "Missing organs and ruptured uterus?"

The File Back in the study— Bryan laid out multiple reports. “Forensics. Original ones.” Dominic’s gaze sharpened. “…And?” Bryan tapped the page. “Toxicology.” Silence. “It doesn’t match the reconstruction.” My heart skipped. “What do you mean?” Bryan looked at me. “The official version says blunt force trauma.” A pause. “But the original report…” He flipped the page. “…shows traces of poison.” Silence. The room froze.

And the hospital’s autopsy report had disappeared, leaving nothing to defend me. But the cemetery had its own records, unknown to many, including me. They ran their own examinations, especially on bodies that weren’t buried immediately. And as I stood there, staring at the report in my hands, my vision blurring with tears, I read the truth of what happened. It was written clearly, signed and documented.
