Thunder crashes outside like the world is ending, and every rumble sends fragments of memory spinning through my damaged mind. I lie in the guest bedroom where Elio insists I should recover, staring at the ceiling while rain pounds against windows with increasing violence. Each flash of lightning illuminates the room in stark black and white.

Tears streamed down her face, mingling with the raindrops that fell from the darkened sky above. "Elma! Wait!" a voice called out from behind her. She recognized it as Gael’'s, the man who had just whispered those words that had sent her into a frenzy of emotions. She ignored his pleas, pushing herself to run faster, desperate to find solace in the chaos of her thoughts. The sound of her own ragged breathing filled her ears as she dashed through the rain-soaked streets. She was a blur, her surroundings nothing more than a blur of colors and indistinguishable shapes. The memories flooded back, unrelenting and vivid, each one more painful than the last.

"I didn't know you were a softie" She laughed out loud to further rile him up and it worked because the next second, he punched her stomach so painfully that she crumbled to the ground, whimpering.

Rosa replied. Dylan smiled finally a way to help trigger her memories to come back, he was tired of the suspense. He didn’t consider the fact that those memories could be bad ones and better left forgotten his yearn to satisfy his curiosity seemed to have made him forget the negative implications that could be tied to the recovery of her memories. He innocently smiled and went on his phone to book tickets online for the two of them.

I clench my fists, determined to prove her wrong. As she turns to leave, a wicked grin playing on her lips, she pauses and looks back at me. “One last thing, Xavie listens to me. We don’t want him to change his mind about you now, do we, Luna?” she sneers, chucking the bleach at me. My heart sinks as I realise the lid isn’t on the bleach, and it pours over me, burning my skin and ruining what’s left of my dress. I bite my trembling lower lip, vowing not to let her break me.

A whisper. And lately, it had been whispering too much. Golden sunlight streamed through the tall front windows now, catching droplets still clinging to the glass. The streets outside were nearly empty, washed clean and gleaming. A delivery truck rolled slowly past, tires hissing against wet pavement. The river beyond town murmured softly, swollen but calm. Clara inhaled deeply, trying to steady the restless tightening in her chest. Rain meant memory. And memory meant fire. The silence of the morning carried the same hollow stillness that had followed the blaze fifteen years ago—the day smoke devoured the sky and stole everything she had known.

The storm didn’t wait for me to reach the gates. It crashed down all at once, cold, unrelenting, heavy. Each raindrop hit my skin like fragments of memory refusing to fade. I ran, barefoot on the marble steps, my dress clinging to me, my breath uneven. He wanted fresh air but suddenly his heart started beating faster when he found the surface of the balcony completely soaked. It was heavily raining. Slowly her memories started hitting his head. Her smile, laugh and excited gestures to him to come under the rain. He gently held his hand forward letting the cold water hit his flesh. “Why does everything reminds me of you?” He mumbled before slowly stepping forward and letting the cold water soak his body.  He breathed out heavily holding his head up letting the rain fall over him. Tears started leaving his eyes but he was glad at least no one could see those tears including him.
