She knew tricks to get rid of it. The moment the blindfold from her eyes was gone, she looked at those persons in front of her with weak vision. She noticed the damaged walls, faded colours and a broken call in front of her. She knew she was just steps away from her death yet she bit on her inner cheek hard to make it bleed. Only distraction and pain could make the drug effect less. She needed to divert her concentration. Psychological setup mattered more.

Allison I lay on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. My eyes fixed on the fan, its blades spinning lazily. I felt numb, empty, and disconnected from the world. "You will look really nice with a rope tied on you," I muttered to the fan, my voice barely above a whisper. My mind was unraveling, consumed by the darkness that had haunted me for so long. I felt like I was losing my grip on reality, slipping into the abyss of depression and despair.

The pain is unbearable but I continue to tighten my fists and when I lift them up, blood is oozing out of the deep crescents formed by my nails. This year there's nothing I've been wanting more than to die everytime something bad happened and death itself has been close by. Too close. Honestly I swear, Blake is like a pill. But instead of making me better, he keeps makes me ill. I guess the universe gave me a wrong prescription then.

The weight of exhaustion sinks into my bones, a leaden ache that refuses to fade even after the battle’s end. I sit alone by the edge of the village’s clearing, my eyes tracing the barrier that now flickers like a shield around our temporary refuge.
