The first thing I noticed was the blood. Dark. Spreading too fast. Seeping between Alexander’s fingers as he pressed a hand against his side. His breath came in sharp, uneven gasps, but his eyes stayed on me. “Leila,” he rasped, his voice barely cutting through the chaos. I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe. “No.” My chest tightened. “No, no, no.” This wasn’t happening. Alexander Steele wasn’t allowed to bleed. He wasn’t allowed to fall.

“Again. You did it.” Her smile doesn’t reach her eyes. My phone buzzes on the vanity, lighting up with a cascade of notifications. – *Insane show. LA office wants you on a call in an hour.* – *Sponsor wants a backstage selfie ASAP—strike while the #BleedForMeChallenge is hot.* – *We’re up 18% in streams mid‑show. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. “Scarlett?” Grayson asked. “Something isn’t right,” I breathed through the pain. “Dr. Conner!” Lee ran out of the room. “Scar…you’re bleeding!” Grayson cried out, looking at the sheet. He was right. They were bright red with my blood. Something was definitely wrong. I was getting dizzier by the second. Dr. Conner and Lee rushed back into the room. “I need a nurse, we have a lot of bleeding!” Dr. Conner shouted. “Stay with me Scarlett.”

"It smells like bleach and desperation. Reminds me too much of you." ​She stopped on her side of the partition. We were separated by two inches of laminated ballistic glass, but standing this close, I could see the tiny, golden flecks in her irises. I could see the faint, dark violet shadows under her eyes, and the rhythmic, rapid pulse pounding against the delicate skin at the base of her throat. ​She was scared. Good. She was supposed to be scared. ​So why was my own heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird?

On the asphalt, Nadia finally snapped out of her trance, her face draining of color as she stared at the crumpled metal and flashing taillight. "Thalia!" Nadia cried, panic clear in her voice. She scrambled down the steep, gravelly embankment, her boots slipping on the loose dirt. Reaching the bottom, she dropped to her knees in the wet weeds, frantically grabbing the handlebars. Using all her strength, she helped Thalia lift the heavy bike until Thalia could free her pinned leg. Thalia lay flat, gazing at the dark canopy of night, her chest heaving as her system mended the bruises.

Kaden sits up, pulling me with him and threading his hands in my hair. I straddle his lap, more than ready to show him how much I love him too. We just stare into each other’s eyes, sharing soft touches and tender kisses. The bed shifts behind me, Declan moving to join us, but then he stills. “Liv, baby, I think-, I think you’re bleeding.” He sounds panicked. “What?” Kaden sounds just as frantic, both of us looking where Declan is staring at the bed. It feels surreal as I look at the blood staining the bed. Kaden lifts me up gently, both of us staring in disbelief at the splotch of red on his leg. I run my hand through the blood streaking down my thighs, and smear it between my fingers.

“Stay still.” He steps back instinctively. “It’s nothing.” “Blake.” My voice drops, controlled but trembling underneath. I step closer. Carefully, slowly, I grip the hem of his shirt. He doesn’t stop me this time. I lift it. And the air leaves my lungs. A thick bandage wraps tightly around his lower abdomen. The gauze is soaked, deep crimson bleeding through layers that were never properly secured. A thin line of fresh blood trails downward. It’s still bleeding.

He looked at Maggie. “Do you know them?” She was always half running toward them, her brow etched with worry and surprise. “Noah? Caleb?” Caleb was hunched over. The smell of blood was coming from him and she could see why. His neck was bleeding from a deep slash that was healing so slowly that it was a surprise he wasn’t dead yet from too much blood loss. He was also bleeding from his midsection which was why he was hunched over. Noah who supported his weight as best as he could was covered in his blood.

Gale bit her lip and answered, "Okay, I got it." Nicole, next to her, suddenly yelled and then covered her mouth. "What's wrong?" Nicole said, "Bleeding teeth." Gale was startled and quickly pulled out a tissue to help her stop the bleeding. The doctor said that leukemia patients would have the symptom of tooth bleeding. Gale's heart was heavy, looking at the bloody tissues. In the afternoon, Gale came to the doctor's consulting room.

“This is perfect.” Nolan begins to take off his shirt. “Seriously, Nolan. Do you really need to be shirtless for this?” “I happen to sweat profusely. And my shirt will greatly affect the aerodynamics of my moves.” “Don´t do that.” “Shall we begin then?” “Are you ready to bleed?” “For you, I always am.” Nolan smiles at me mischievously. He pulls out a staff from a weapons rack. “I hope you don´t mind. Since I am at a disadvantage.”
