Lyric Adams pov As I stepped into the forest, I noticed my right foreleg emitting light and looked at it to see my Crescent Moon mark glowing brightly through my fur. Peering up at Salem, his ribcage mark was shining brightly, too. Feeling my eyes on him, he lifted his arm to view his mark and said, “It's because we are in a God's forest, and it helps identify our lineage to the others.” Nodding I grew curious about who else would be within the mystical forest and ran ahead a few feet of my brother to find out.

Then another across his arm. I rushed forward. My blade intercepted Bran's next attack. Sparks flew. The gold surged brighter. Power raced through my veins. Bran snarled. "Your curse doesn't scare me." I met his gaze. "This isn't a curse." The gold exploded outward. "It's a blessing." Light erupted from my wrist – brighter, hotter, stronger than ever before. The cemetery vanished beneath a flood of gold. Headstones glowed. Shadows fled. Even the moon seemed dim beside it.
