After my phone call, I padded across the hardwood floor to what I assumed to be the living area. For a cabin out in the woods, this place was huge. I searched the large area before my eyes rested on Ramon. He hadn't noticed my presence in the room so I took my time taking in his appearance in the brighter light of the living room. His hair looked even more bleached, it was almost white falling over his eyes as he concentrated on the book in his hands.

Now it's making me think about what they want with a poor girl like me from Massachusetts. The bed is enormous, with the most beautiful mahogany oak frame and a tall, elegant headboard. I've never had a headboard before never even had a bed this big. On either side are matching nightstands, each with a large lamp perched on top. The walls are freshly painted in a soft, creamy seashell white.

A long whiteboard lined the opposite wall between the two doors from the hallway. The wall behind the head of the long wooden mahogany table had a large, imposing wood carving of the pack crest. Celeste guessed that the shield was at least eight feet tall and six feet at its widest point. Above a filled mahogany buffet table against the far wall, were seven variations of the crest.

I muttered as I turned away from Alpha Talon to access where I was. The room I was in had a woody and rustic vibe to it. A centre table that was made of what looked like oak or perhaps mahogany—I wouldn’t know, I wasn’t a carpenter—and it had warm brown walls that matched the simple and sturdy furniture that were different shades of coffee and cream. I walked in the direction of the door, past the bed that dominated the space, with its frame made from thick unpolished logs and it barely took Talon seconds to cut across the bed and block me before I reached the door.

We haven’t gotten snow yet, but I’m sure it’s not too far off. It has become my favorite space. Everything is bright and inviting. The deck is a light teak wood and all of the furniture is a similar wood color with cushions in shades of gray. I don’t know if technically I am supposed to be out here, since it is outside, but I figure if I don’t leave the safety of the porch I’m fine. No one has yelled at me yet.

He winks. I blush. “Thank you. I can’t wait to see the interior.” He keeps my hand in his as we step inside. “For the entrance foyer, I went with an ash wood coat rack, console, and chair to match the muted cream walls,” he explains. “Nice,” I say, running my fingers over the console. “This looks like a rare wooden find. I’m sure it cost an arm and a leg.” We move into the living room, adorned in white, grey, and black undertones masculine yet opulent. I sink into the sofa for a brief moment and let out a moan.

We're far enough from the water that the beating waves don't wash too close to us but close enough that the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea wash over me. The entrance welcomes us with a solid wooden door, intricately carved with traditional patterns, offering a preview of the meticulous woodwork that awaits within. Upon stepping inside, the open-concept living space unfolds, showcasing a symphony of rich, dark woods that create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The living area is dominated by bespoke wooden furniture, each piece a work of art in itself. ~ ANNIKA ~ The moment I stepped into the office, my jaw almost dropped to the floor at the Beauty. It was enough to take my mind off that damned bastard and his slutty girlfriend. The first thing I noticed was the large, rich brown mahogany desk, perfectly polished to a warm sheen. The desk was paired with a comfortable, high-backed leather chair upholstered in a complementary earthy tone. To one side of the room was a plush couch, its cushions a soft, creamy white.

I said. “Thank God I’m not the only one that feels that way.” Sandra chuckled nervously. “If I keep this one, I might use my go-to of gray, white, and warm wood tones throughout.” I smiled as we ventured further into the house. We found a yellow kitchen, a salmon pink half-bath, a dark evergreen living room, a maroon dining room, a dark mahogany office with checkerboard floor tiles, a rose-printed den, and what looked like a gold ballroom with strategically placed mirrors and white vinyl flooring. Upon closer inspection, I noticed embossed rose gold roses on the walls under scones resembling wall-mounted candelabras.

Wood covered almost every surface, from the walls to the massive beam ceiling and intricate inlaid floors. We were directed to an open expanse of a room with plenty of seating, meant to accommodate large pack gatherings. The wood theme of the home continued with handcrafted furniture made by skilled artisans from the finest maple and red oak. Vibrant colored furnishings in crimson, orange and teal, offset the natural palette. Finding two comfortable chairs together, Ryder and I settled into them. Already, the room was thick with discussion, several pockets of conversation filling the air around us. "Can I get you something to drink?" a soft voice spoke from behind me.
