I dropped to my knees, trying to form a sob but no noise would come out. Fury was flashing across his eyes as he allowed my brother's limp body to drop to the floor. As if damning him to an eternity of suffering, he glared down at the corpse before the swirling blackness of his irises cleared and he stared down at the blood on his hands. The blood of my dead brother at the hands of my mate.

Because they lacked the physical strength to deliver significant slashes, they were attempting to bleed out their little windfall via a slew of minor wounds and slashing. Leo was the most effective, cutting a path of open wounds and pouring blood with his two swords and whirlwind spinning that slowed the flow of blood. The dark serpent resembled an enormous plodding meat that was being attacked by a school of piranhas. It was a terrifying feat. After all, it was only a matter of time before the entire shadow was devoured by a thousand tiny pieces of cuts.

His right arm was broken off cleanly from the elbow. Leo was frightened until the blood drained from his face. Suddenly, he gritted his teeth and climbed up, then pulled out a baton from the back of his waist. He shouted at his men, "Everyone pay attention! Don’t pick up the guns! Those who can still stand and want to live through today, don't be a f*cking coward and follow me! Let’s fight them and kill our bloody way through!"

I'm making a mess on Javier’s body with the way my blood keeps pouring on him,” I said to Leo. “Fine,” Leo scoffed, “But you're stitching… Holy moon goddess, what in the world is happening?” I frowned as I followed Leo’s line of vision and I saw the most incredible and frightening sight ever. “Oh my gosh!”
