Kaden sits up, pulling me with him and threading his hands in my hair. I straddle his lap, more than ready to show him how much I love him too. We just stare into each other’s eyes, sharing soft touches and tender kisses. The bed shifts behind me, Declan moving to join us, but then he stills. “Liv, baby, I think-, I think you’re bleeding.” He sounds panicked. “What?” Kaden sounds just as frantic, both of us looking where Declan is staring at the bed. It feels surreal as I look at the blood staining the bed. Kaden lifts me up gently, both of us staring in disbelief at the splotch of red on his leg. I run my hand through the blood streaking down my thighs, and smear it between my fingers.

His skin seemed to pale as the life fluid drained out of him. My other hand pressed to his neck feeling his pulse getting slower and weaker with every second ticking by. "Shit!" Liam hissed, "Stay here, I am gonna go get a doctor. They left him to freaking bleed to death!" With that, he scurried out of the room so fast. I stayed close by his side, tears drenching my cheeks and my heart pounding hard at the sight ahead of me. There was so much blood - dark crimson, with a discreet, metallic scent. It cascaded across his skin, right into the floor. I shakily placed my hand on it hoping it would just stop. I stifled back tears as I said, "Please don't die.."

Her lower body was drenched with blood. Arya was bleeding.

She wanted to escape the nightmare but was unable to break free. - In the emergency room, the doctors and nurses were treating the four deep wounds on Liora's back. The doctor frowned and said, "Check the blood bank to see if there's a suitable match. Get her a blood transfusion, stat!"

The doctor was confident. “Yes, I’m sure of it. It’s not necessarily true that heavy bleeding connotes serious wounds. At worst, her fall might accidentally trigger an older leg injury, and since it’s connected to some of her leg ligaments, it elicited a sudden jolt of pain that could, understandably, cause her to faint in agony. Either way, when the IV drip finishes, she will be ready to go home. Right now, she’s already awake.”

I looked at her legs, the blood was slowly gushing out increasing the pain that she had tried to conceal. “How do I help?” I asked mama taking the stance of a man. “Ikem, get water” she replied almost immediately. Ikem took the bucket and set off swiftly then she turned towards me “you will have to control the bleeding” I nodded my head, taking recognition of the task placed on me. “Find an onugbu leaf, cut as much as possible and find a cloth or wrapper.” I surveyed the forest as I found an onugbu tree, I cut off leaves as much as I could then rushed back to mama.

Each heartbeat pulses agony through my veins. My breath catches in my throat as I gasp, trying to comprehend the visceral pain that courses through me. The crimson stain spreads across my chest. My knees buckle beneath the unbearable weight of suffering, and I crumple to the ground. The world spins, colors dancing in chaotic disarray. I feel the very essence of my existence is leaking away, leaving me stranded in a vast expanse of nothingness. Are these the final strokes of my life? I wonder with my eyes gazing down at my bleeding chest.

The young boy lay obediently on the bed, appearing frail despite the white coat accentuating his youth. Lucas discovered he had leukemia during a school sports event when his nose suddenly started bleeding. Soon, his eyes began bleeding as well.
