I swallowed when he pulled a blade from the waistband of his pants. Unsheathing it, I caught my reflection in the polished metal. The handle was wrapped in dark leather, with a single jewel at the hilt. It was the same crimson shade as my father’s magic.
“We’re going to use his blood?”
He met my eyes, “We’re going to use all of it.”
