My plants knocked over, soil spilled like dark stains across the tiles. And right there in the middle of the chaos— blood. Dried. Dark. A small patch near the counter. I wasn't sure if that had been mine or my attackers. I don't think I wanted to find out. I stood frozen for a second, staring at it. My throat went dry. It wasn’t much. Just a smear, like someone had scraped a hand or dragged something heavy across the floor. Still, my stomach twisted. I didn't know the struggle was this bad. But how could I have known?

Just as I guessed, the door is unlocked, like he is daring me to try and leave. There is something on the floor. Dark. Irregular. I look at it without fully processing it at first, then my brain catches up, and I suddenly realize the red splatter I am staring at. Blood. I look down at myself, touching and examining. My hand comes away damp at the back of my trousers. I twist to look behind me. It's right there, dark red spreading against the white fabric, unmistakable. My hand goes to it. Comes away wet. How did I not notice this?

Dim light from a single lamp cuts through the chaos—kitchen chairs scattered like dominoes, a coffee mug shattered across linoleum, its contents pooling in dark stains. And then I see it. Blood. A smear on the left wall, finger-width, like someone reached for balance and found none. Dark drops on the faded carpet leading toward the back of the apartment, each one a breadcrumb in a nightmare.

She muttered and glanced at her heartbroken father. Blood was splattered on the walls of the kitchen as if it were stains of a water gun. The crimson-hot liquid slides slowly from the walls making a horrible pattern. It sparkled dominantly under the vibrant lights on the ceiling. The containers of food were still on fire, boiling, and cooking. The water in dishwashers was running freely and now started to flood the floor.

All they could do was cry while screaming in fear when a man's body greeted their sight, he was bathing in his blood as his body was being pinned in the wooden wall of the room. The victim's body was being hanged on the wooden wall using long gardening scissors. It was pricked on his both shoulders, causing him not to fall on the floor. There were three stabs on his chest located on his heart and there's a fresh huge open cut on his neck. Tons of blood was wasted and it overflowed down on the carpet floor. The liquids were all over.

It's on the walls and it has seeped into the cracks in the floor. There are smears of it on the doorknob and bloody handprints on the lampshade, the light switch, and a lot more on the walls. There is even a large pool of it congealed under the children's twin-sized bed, where they tried to hide."

I snorted, pushing the door open and walking straight into a wall of solid muscle, the familiar scent of Wyatt attacking my senses. "What the fuck." I groaned, dropping the water to the floor. Following it with my eyes I expected to see it smash all over the floor coating my feet and Gwen's shoes in water, but instead, the sticky trashed wooden floor was replaced with a luxury white carpet. no water in sight. Lifting my eyes to look around the room I froze seeing the beautiful artwork and dated walls coated in red splashes. "Blood?" I asked looking up to meet Wyatt's eyes. "Maybe." He shrugged unapologetically.

Although it wasn’t loud, it was enough for him to hear it. I got back to the entrance of the music room a couple of minutes after I left Philip on the floor between the lockers. Since the light around was more stable than on the other side of the hallway, the splattered blood on the walls and on the floor, as well as the prints of the same substance on the door were now all vividly visible. From the way I looked at them, I could tell they were all left untouched.
