Chapter 6: The Price of Power Karina stood at the center of the dimly lit chamber, the weight of the moment pressing on her chest. Her fingers tingled with the strange, foreign power that surged beneath her skin. The bloodline—her blood—was the key to something far darker than she had imagined. But the deeper she felt into it, the clearer it became: this wasn’t just a ritual. This was a war—one that would cost her everything, but one she could win.

Nathan then instantly flipped over the air and stands at Zitrey’s side. Slayer smirked from the unexpected hit he receives. He tardily holds his long blade katana while tapping it on his shoulder. The dull part was colored in black while the sharp one was in shiny silver, and in between, they were a dark purple in a zigzag pattern. The weapon was scary enough to make goosebumps, it seems possessed by the shadow of death. Slayer then uttered while staring intently to Nathan, “I will play with you lad. You seem fun.” he then looked at his remaining troupe, “There are still few people upstairs, so babies, kill the rest~”

Gregory replies with a nod. "It has come to my attention that he carries dragon slayer abilities, which I have discovered during my time training him. To my knowledge, only humans of magical bloodlines may carry the dragon slayer trait. As far as I know only you human royals come from magical bloodlines since the rest of your kind died during The Fires of Alira, so I must ask if the blacksmith is your son,” Soren questions. My heart nearly stops as Soren lays everything out in there open. I am curious as to what his response will be, but I am also consumed with fear.

From what I can tell, her other bloodline might possibly be under Elizabeth’s bloodline— because, for a vampire, she’s beautiful. “A vampire…huh. Whose bloodline were you under…?” I said to Sherry. “Eh? You are familiar with the vampire race…?” “I read history, more or less.” “My family bloodline is under Lord Ambrogio, Lord Gaius, and Lady Elizabeth.” Hearing those unbelievable words, I shook my head for a moment to clear my thoughts. “Say that again?” I ask to confirm once more. “Okay… Lord Ambrogio, Lord Gaius and Lady Elizabeth.”

"Keep it steady!" I regained my footing between the bags, aimed, then took another two shots. One hit his upper arm, the other his shoulder, but he kept coming, unfazed by the gushing holes. I shifted my weight onto my other foot and grinned. I might not have stopped him, but the Thornblood dipped bullets had punctured him, binding shade and host to the same satisfying fate. I fired one last time, hitting him strait between his soulless eyes.
