I scream running back to the black Cadillac, our car. “Stop her!!!” someone shouts but I keep on going, the moment I reach the car I open the door and what I see has me tongue tied. On the driver’s seat laid Jeremy, blood all over him; a sharp, deep cut on the hand that had the black and white bracelet (our friendship bracelet). I looked at my wrist but there was nothing. I could not believe Jeremy was laying there, a black triangle near him and his left wrist had a black cloth tied on it.

The Queen turned to the King, her mouth opening to argue, but his raised hand silenced her. Damien’s shadow fell over me as he crouched slightly, his voice low enough for only me to hear. “Don’t look, little flame,” he murmured, the words gentle despite the tension in his tone. “You don’t need to see this.” The trapdoors fell with a sickening thud. My father, my mother, my brother—gone. A scream tore from my throat, raw and uncontrollable. I collapsed to the ground, my legs giving out beneath me. I didn’t need to see it; the sound alone was enough to shatter what was left of my heart.

“I’ve killed for you, bled for you—and you’re too busy fantasizing about a gardener to even see it!” Michael’s expression shifted. Hurt crept into his features, darkening his tone. “You think this is about Alan? You really think that’s why I’m angry?” I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. He took a step forward now, his voice low. “You violated me. You want to talk about killing for me? Fine. Let’s talk about who I killed.” I already knew where this was going, and I hated it. “I killed Damian,” Michael said, almost in a whisper. “I put a bullet in his head because of you. Because I knew you wouldn’t stop. Because I knew you would go to war if I didn’t end it myself.”

Damian is the key to locking the beast away. The fear of the uncontrollable strength was worse than any pain or confinement. It was the fear of losing myself entirely. The terrifying image of Kael, the Mirkwood Alpha, attacking Damian’s father flashed through my mind, a fresh memory from Damian's strained expression. Kael wasn't playing a game. The voice cut through the air sharply. Damien heard it from his room and was out in a minute.. Other pack members too who heard it were outside in a flash When Damein saw him.. he didn’t need words to know something was wrong. The messenger dropped to one knee, struggling to steady himself. “Speak.” Damien’s voice was calm. The man swallowed a hard lump then spoke.. “Nightwing… was attacked.” The words hit him hard. But Damien didn’t react yet… “By who?” His tone didn’t change.

I heard him say. “What’s up?” “It’s crazy. It’s the Eric Circle Pack. Damn! They lost Damian. They lost their alpha.” Boom! Here we go. I sipped from a cup of coffee as I placed my ears on their voice vibration, hearing them clearly enough from the distance. “Are you being serious? What happened to Damian?” “The news has it that he was attacked, but his actual cause of death was slipping and falling. He broke his neck by the bathtub.”

Without flinching, Damian retorted, his voice laced with an unwavering determination, "I've sworn death upon you all, and I never break my promises. The only way you'll leave here is in death's embrace." "Then she dies too!" the witch screamed, raising the knife with murderous intent. But before she could carry out her sinister plan, Damian swiftly intercepted her, forcefully separating her from Vivian. A wicked smirk danced upon Damian's lips as he taunted, "Have you forgotten? I possess superhuman speed." He delved into her mind, seizing control of her right arm—the very arm clutching the knife.

He then set the cage beside the demolished manor so that she was forced to stare at the ruins every day and see what she had destroyed with her own hands. As for the twins, Damian did not hurt them. Instead, he sent them back to the Carlos family as a sign of war. That night, Damian destroyed all the Carlos family’s bases in Zolnah. He led the charge like the God of Death and was drenched in blood. He did not wear any bulletproof vests and had no one protecting him. He even longed for a bullet to pierce his heart. However, the God of Death denied him. He was bound to live with the pain of realizing the truth until the day his soul rotted completely.

We stood over their bodies, our breaths heavy but our resolve unbroken. Damian finally moved, a slow, deliberate step forward. His smile was gone, replaced by a cold, murderous stare. “You’ve made it this far,” he said, his voice as sharp as a blade. “But it ends here.” We didn’t wait. Luca and I charged at him together. Damian met us head-on, his movements faster than I anticipated. He blocked my strike with ease, his hand snapping out to grab my wrist. Pain shot through me as his grip tightened, but I twisted free and lashed out with my claws.
