Olivia placed the furball on the couch, and stood back for the doctor to examine her. She whispered prayers under her breath for the safety of her cat.
Doctor Martine knelt, opening his case and pulling out gloves, a stethoscope, and a few small instruments. He carefully examined Lulu, pressing her abdomen gently, watching her eyes, her reaction to touch.
“She’s in pain,” he said, frowning deeply. “But it’s not poisoning or food-related… There’s something obstructing her intestinal passage. A foreign object. That’s what’s causing her symptoms.”
