While comforting her, he had continued slamming against the door. With a faint crack, the door had finally given way. Cold air carrying the scent of rain had rushed in violently. The wind had cut across her face like blades, yet it had carried the sharp, precious sensation of survival. Laura had even caught a glimpse of the sky beyond, the oppressive gray now glaringly bright. The door had opened. Chu Xun fired four bolts in rapid succession; the energy bolts pummeled at the tails, forcing Scarlet away as the pulses of force from the impacts obliterated the furniture into scraps of wood.

I imagine everything he said, my legs fusing together and becoming one big fish tail, a fluke. I start feeling it happen and it is like a burning sensation, I almost fall to my knees but Blake catches me and holds me up, the pain continues and five minutes later, I have a green tail the color of my eyes.
