Blossoming Flowers Novels & Stories

CHAPTER 19: A Botanical Invasion And A G-Rated Mystery Sophia I was still vibrating from the shock of the package in the foyer. Calling it a bouquet was like calling the A****n rainforest a window box. It was a literal mountain of flora—a botanical invasion that had claimed half the entryway. Towers of cherry blossoms in pale pink and white, orchids in creamy lavender and deep violet, tulips in every shade from white to blood-red, all arranged in massive crystal vases.

Hero elaborated, “In werewolf lore, the Starlight Blossom is revered as a symbol of hope and renewal. It is said to have the power to calm the savage instincts of werewolves during the full moon, allowing them to retain their human consciousness and control.” Their presentation was met with intrigued murmurs from the audience, impressed by the imaginative concept of the Starlight Blossom and its significance in both mythology and folklore. Mrs. Ramirez nodded in approval, acknowledging their creativity and thorough research. Esmeray and Calliyah stepped forward, ready to present their project on the Enchanted Moonflower, a rare and mystical bloom with a captivating allure. “Good morning, eve

I followed. “I’m picking daddy flowers.” She crouched over some lilac bushes. There were clusters of buds, but not one bloom. “These are his favourites. He said mommy smelled like them.” She trailed her fingers over the closed buds. “I wish they were open.” She looked at me and I smiled. I pulled my power to my fingers, and I trailed my hands over the bush. Awakening it, making it grow, bloom, and thrive. I snapped full stalks off and pushed my power into the ends.

"What do I take you for? You're nothing but a love-struck fool! How did the campus star you once were end up like this?" Edward gave an exasperated eye roll, his last few words lost in a quiet mumble. Confused by my look, Edward's ears turned a bright red as he shoved past me and bolted up the stairs. "It's getting late. Time to wash up and hit the hay." The new house was a last-minute find, and while it was not exactly bursting with cheer, it had everything we needed.

Our powers braid tighter, faster, cleaner. Moonfire. Stormlight. Gold. We don’t vanish. We align. And the forming goddess pulses with a new heartbeat hers. No. Ours.

But the smell; burning fabric, plastic, flesh, hit her like déjà vu. She stumbled back, chest heaving. Not again. From the hallway came a final, echoing scream, and then the unmistakable crackle of fire.

This is creation unleashed. The flowers loom, towering like gods, their heads heavy and swaying. Petals curl in on themselves, ribbon candy dipped in oil, shimmering with colors I have no names for. Mauves that burn gold at the edges, blues so deep they go violet, then vanish. Some shift when I look directly at them, pulsing and breathing, resenting the attention I’m lavishing on them. Burning starts behind my eyes, the sting of unspent tears blurring my vision. I blink it away hard and fast, not wanting to miss a single second of this moment.

The grandeur of the building was only surpassed by the breathtaking beauty of the flower garden that awaited us inside. As we stepped into the garden, a symphony of colors greeted my eyes. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the vibrant hues of roses, lilies, and tulips painted a picturesque scene. It was as if nature itself had come alive, creating a paradise of petals and roses. The garden was meticulously designed, with winding paths that led to hidden alcoves and secret corners. Each turn revealed a new surprise as if the garden was whispering its secrets to those who were willing to listen. The flowers seemed to dance in the gentle breeze, their delicate pet

“Are these the flowers you told me about?” A small smile formed on my face at the question, as I joined him in flower watching. “Yes. These are a special kind of flowers called ‘dandelions’,” I explained. “Unlike most flowers, this one blooms in two stages. Right now, we’re looking at the first stage of blooming.” Justin’s eyes widened at my explanation, his awe growing more. “Wow… Will I be able to see its next blooming stage?” “Yes, of course.” Justin looked back up at me and asked, “Where do we go from here?”

A soft plunk echoed through the air as the ring disappeared beneath the surface, swallowed by the deep. Carissa turned to the distance, a bright, carefree smile blooming on her face as she looked at the grave. "You're free now. From now on, love yourself more." Her smile was as lovely as ever.
