The Devil's Obsession
A pair of glowing eyes blinked from the darkness, followed by a low, raspy laugh.
Aria stepped back. "What is that?"
Lucian growled, stepping in front of her protectively. "A spy."
The creature slithered from the wall, thin and wiry, more shadow than flesh. Its smile was wrong — wide, sharp, and cruel.
"She’s quite the prize," it hissed, baring its jagged teeth. "The others will come, you know. You can’t hide her forever, Devil."
Lucian’s face was carved from ice. "Tell them if they touch her, I’ll rip their souls from their chests and feed them to the pit."
