“Chris is going to meet us on the back porch for dessert. There is Lemon Blueberry pound cake and apple caramel pie.” “I love blueberry pound cake.” Sophie states getting up from her seat. We make our way to the back porch to have our dessert. I am walking next to Ireland playing with Olivia who is in her arms. Sophie has her arm through mine walking alongside me laughing at the exchange. We have all exited the back door on to the porch when a loud growl rips through the ear “MINE!!!” I instinctively pull Ireland and Olivia behind me away from Chris. I get into a fighting stance as he takes a step toward us becoming angry over his claim of my mate and child. Ireland puts her hand comfortably

Twisting one cheek, I decided to go for it. I stabbed my fork into the dessert, eating it angrily. The plate was cold, but the pie was warm and yummy; the crust melted in my mouth, the filling was made here packed with blueberries fresh from probably up the road. It was incredible but I was too pissed off to fully appreciate it. This was probably from Everett to make Mila happy. I saw their eyes connect and now this shows up. Of course, it's all about her again. He just keeps doing the same thing.

Having no time to bother about irrelevant things like that,I made my way towards the kitchen. My thoughts were on making some spaghetti and spicy meatballs with a blueberry pie. Dane loves pie like crazy. After I concluded on what to cook,the time for the needed ingredients came. Checking the refrigerator, I noticed there wasn't any blueberries. Urgh!! ' I really want to make some pie for Dane !'i groaned inwardly. I heard Adam scoff loudly. 'Stop acting like a toddler. Go into the farm, you'll surely see some blueberries there!' Adam suggested "That's a wonderful idea!" I beamed and rushed out of the door. ***

I decided I’d ask Fiona later if she could help me find a vase for them. As I rolled further in, I found something even more surprising, an orchard. Blueberries, raspberries, black currants, apples and oranges. They were ripe and looked absolutely delicious. I reached up to pluck some, but it was hard from the wheelchair. I tried a few times before giving up with a sigh. I made a mental note to come back once I could stand again before I left this place. Just as I was about to turn around, the sky rumbled and in seconds, it started to rain. Heavy, pouring rain.

Juicy put her hand on her hips and tapped her foot in annoyance, staring at everyone in the room until they averted their eyes. She continued, despite the fact that she had no one to focus her anger on. "And first of all; those are not from a box or from the corner store. Those are fresh made. Second; fresh blueberries cost good money when people gotta be pigs about things!" Juicy put her hands back into the woman's hair. She pulled the comb through tensely. "So, if you all get hungry then you need to just pack a damn lunch, shit." She mumbled.

and trust me when I say Bennett has been very thorough. "Is that a blueberry muffin?" he asks, his finger touching the clear glass at the back of my display counter. The blueberry sold out during the morning rush. "No, it's bran." He pulls his fingers away like the muffin burned him. "No wonder you have so many left." I crinkle my nose at his comment, even though he has a point. For a town full of old people, they do not care about getting their daily fiber intake. "I'm out of blueberry. They sell fast every morning." In fact, so well tomorrow's plan is to scrap the bran muffins and make extra blueberry.

“What would you order?” Suddenly, Blue averted her gaze. Pressed on regardless. “I’d order two coffees and a cheese and tomato sandwich—a mocha have-here and a takeaway long black,” Blue took pause. As she did, she scanned the crowd of those who had since begun to queue. Wondered how many suffered the same silent fate as she. Somehow, felt no sympathy for those who did. There were worse fates, she was rather aware. Yet her self-sympathy somehow lingered. “The mocha and sandwich would keep me full until lunch. I’d save the black for mid-afternoon when I get hungry again,”

Isn’t it true that if something tastes bad, it’s probably poisonous? But just as I was about to bring it up to my mouth, my eyes caught a glimpse of something even better. Blueberries! I ran over to the little bush, leaving the mushroom on the trunk. And, for once, I felt extremely fortunate when I discovered that there were more of those bushes a short distance away. My hands worked systematically through every tiny branch and leaf for the next hour or so, bringing the juicy berries into my mouth and suffocating my hunger. And by the time I’d gone through each one to make sure I had them all, the flavorful fluid had turned my fingers and, most likely, my lips purple.

As she passed her phone to her colleague, I snatched the phone from her and watched the livestream. It was Arya. She was in an orchard, basking under the heat of the sun, and standing on her tiptoes to reach the apples on the branches. She, without any makeup on, wore a simple cotton dress and had her hair tied back in a ponytail. Her skin had been tanned into a rich, wheat-gold color. She smiled at the camera and began her narration, “These Honeycrisp apples are perfect for making pies. My grandfather has grown them for thirty years…”

Ava and Jenny started running around the orchard once they got used to the new place. The blueberries in the orchard were large, round, and deep blue in color. I picked one and put it in my mouth. When Ava saw me doing that, her eyes widened and she pointed at me, shouting to Atlas, "Daddy, Mommy’s eating blueberries without even washing them! That’s so unhygienic.” Atlas had one too, and looked utterly delighted. Ava was even more confused. "Uh, Daddy..." I picked an even bigger blueberry and offered it to her. She blinked her big eyes, gazing at me for a moment before opening her mouth to take it. Her face scrunched up in delight.
