Both twins stared at the skeletal figure as if it had suddenly sprouted two heads.
The skeleton sighed, its glowing red eye sockets softening, filled with parental love. “Oh my babies,” it said, its voice full of warmth. “Look how big you’ve grown. How many months has it been? You're both so tall now and so handsome. Oh how I've missed you so much.”
The twins exchanged a quick glance, both confused and horrified. Through their mind link, Sariel asked, 'So they can talk?'
'Apparently,' Tariel replied, his voice dry. 'But this is beyond creepy. Why does it think we’re its sons?'
