The Night Before Christmas
“What I said was, what if failure is your border… and a ray, the wonder that slapped your greatness into your ego.”
I repeated the words silently, tasting them.
Hailey.
Failure.
Aria.
A ray.
The overlap made my chest tighten.
“Aria,” she continued, lowering her voice, “a close friend of mine has experienced too many failures in life. She’s been talking about ending it all. I was trying to help her see failure not as an ending, but as a border. Something she could either step over or stand on. Either way, light follows. A ray. A line of hope.”
