I greeted the hotel receptionist with a small smile. "Good afternoon madam, how can I help you?" she asked. "I actually have an appointment with Mr Robert Deville, please check to confirm," I replied. "Oh, your name please?" she asked. "Gabrielle Johannson," I replied and after a few minutes of calling to confirm, she finally replied to me. "Mr Deville approves your visit miss. The room number is 5502, I'll get someone to escort you," she said suddenly and I frowned deeply at the word 'approve'.

Luna’s POV We arrived at Barnes and Noble book store almost thirty minutes ago, this place was bustling. Sadie took a seat beside me while Roman stood behind watching as smalls crowds gathered. I must admit, the publishing company had done a fantastic job of advertising the book signing. Even though it wasn’t originally meant for me, the crowds took the opportunity to approach me and speak about my book. I had the pleasure of signing numerous books which to my surprise many people had purchased.

There’s a soft thud, and the drawer on the nightstand pops out. Inside the drawer is a book with black bindings, along with a pen. There’s nothing else in the drawer, not even a picture. I pull the book out, turning it over in my hands. The cover is cool and leather. I’m sure it’s a journal of some sort, and I’m almost tempted to put it back, unread.

She knew because her book’s banner was above it, and what’s more shocking than to have your debut novel’s own shelf is that the shelf is empty. They were sold out.

I scooped her up, laughing. “Yes, princess, and I have something amazing to tell you.” Noah appeared in the doorway, holding Luca. “From the look on your face, I’m guessing it went well.” “It went better than well,” I said, my voice trembling with joy. “They want to publish my book. A real publisher, Noah. This is actually happening.” He crossed the room in three strides, pulling me into a fierce hug while still balancing Luca on his hip. “I knew you could do it,” he whispered against my ear.

Hey, thank you to read this book. But I need to make some annoucement. I will hold this book and not continue to update yet, cause I need to make a huge revision here and try to get better plot and engagement.

Those thirty minutes were stressful, to say the least. "I'm done," I sighed in relief. "You're done?" the young man asked. "Yes, so is my admission safe?" I responded. "Not yet," he replied. "What do you mean by that?!" I yelled in frustration. "Don't shout, just do one more thing," he said calmly.

It was a strange size, looking more like a journal, jammed between Whispers 2 and his hardcover edition of Dark Forces. He touched the book’s spine, fingers trailing down its pebbled surface. He was about to pull it out, had his finger hooked on the spine’s edge, but he figured it was probably a collector’s edition he’d bought at Arcane Delights, the used bookstore in town. That’s all. Scanning the shelves unsuccessfully for something else interesting, John brushed off his knees and stood. Something swished down the hall.

I called again, moving toward the door but I got no answer. This guy is not only a nerd, he is also weird and somehow crazy. I wonder how I was going to cope with him when I joined his book club. I grabbed my phone off the table and unlocked it. As the screen popped on, messages flooded in. Group chats messages , especially the ones I've muted for a while now. ‘Arian Smith, Orleans College Book Club President, Accused of Misusing Club Funds.’ I blinked, trying to wake myself from the dream. I scrolled down, read it again and it was still the same.
