"Come with me." We followed her through the dimly lit building. It's lit like this to preserve the integrity of the documents that are stored here. We followed Heather to a room. Inside, there was a table with books sprawled on it. Some open. Some closed. One particular book stood out to me. I closed in on it immediately. It's an old book. Its cover leather, with vine like spiraling, to hold it together. The bordering of the book is encased in some type of material like metal. In the center, it read a name.

The doors creaked as she pushed them open, revealing what lay inside. The cabinet was filled with papers, old books, and trinkets, the remnants of a past long forgotten. Bliss ran her fingers over the contents, her heart racing with each new discovery. Among the books, she found a leather-bound journal, its pages yellowed with age. The title, written in faded gold lettering, read Blackwood Family History. She pulled it out and opened it, her hands trembling with anticipation.

He nods his head, and he helps me step down off his truck. He grabs my wrist and pulls me to his front door. He unlocks it. We walk into his club. Going up the stairs to his office. He walks us further inside his room. He goes to his bookshelf and starts moving his hand around it. I then see him stop at an incredibly old-looking book. He picks it up. But it doesn’t come off the shelf. Then I saw the bookshelf move, and behind it is a secret door. He walks towards it.

I had a lot of stares from the pack and a lot of heads being nodded in my direction. “They bow to the queen of the south!” echoed forcibly in my head. “OKKKKKKK. Let’s rein that ego in.” My wolf huffed in reply but did no such thing, if anything she puffed out her chest more just to annoy me. I inwardly groaned. Today was going to be a challenge in more ways than one. The library doors were a light oak wood with glass panels that had intricate floral designs of green and gold inlaid onto them. They were beautiful and as Becca went in I stayed and ran my finger over all the intricate details.

Like Mission Impossible?” Everyone nods. Mr. Blackwood walks to a section of the wall, pulls a book, presses a hidden button, and a door opens behind the shelf. A man enters with a medical cart full of tubes, needles, ice packs. He's calm and professional.

My heart began to beat faster, though I could not explain why. Dad could not have just come up with a merger out of nowhere. Something must have influenced him. An external force. A pressure. A deal bigger than what he was telling us. I reached the door and tried to push it open. It did not move. Instead, a small digital panel lit up, asking for a passkey. I blinked at it in disbelief. Who on earth puts a passkey on a library door This was not a vault. It was supposed to be a room for reading.

After a few moments, the door clicked and unlocked. “Get inside, and don’t ever play hero again.” he literally pushed me inside. “Fine, the magic door. You can figure that out.” He hurriedly went out and locked the door behind me. I was in the old study, with tall bookshelves filled with hardbound books. I went through it, finding the magic door, like he said. I looked down. It usually had scrapes on the floor or a dent on the carpet. And I was right. I pulled all the books until I found resistance. I pushed it back, and it clicked. The shelf moved, and I entered to see faces staring at me incredulously as if I had just gone insane.

I went in search of another but I ended up having a stack full of books with enticing book covers and submarization that kept me curious and glued to the papers. I walked deeper and deeper till the other end of the library, I gazed up at a wierd looking book on a shelf in the midst of other books, it had a wine book cover but didn't actually seem removable. I grabbed onto the book but it didn't budge, and when I tried harder my fingers ended up sinking into it and I retreated my hand. Just then I realized something, I watched in bewilderment as the shelf suddenly parted, revealing a metal black door.
