The entire pack hall fell instantly silent. The doors burst open with a bang, and Nolan stormed in, the full weight of the Silverglade Pack’s leadership trailing nervously behind him. The moment he threw me a heartbeat's glance, Janine, who was still holding the knife aloft, was flung violently across the hall by an invisible force. She smashed through three support pillars and landed embedded deep in the far wall. Despite being Silverglade’s top warrior, Aiden had already collapsed into a trembling heap on the floor. Faelan, who was finally free, leapt up and ran to Nolan, sobbing as he threw himself into his father’s arms.

She covered her nose and walked back into the house, pointing the camera inside. "Look. Miles has turned the house into a landfill. "I want to bring him back too, but look at how filthy he is. How am I supposed to bring him home like this?" I felt terribly wronged and muttered stiffly, "I'm not filthy." What can a five-year-old do? I've been dead for five years, and you still don't know. "Let me see Brother's house! I want to see!" A bright, lively voice came from the video. An eight-year-old boy in a little suit appeared on the screen, looking like a small prince.

The fifth bond was nothing like the others. Veyra had expected it to be a surge of passion, a crackling storm like the others, like the ones with Kael, Zevi, Rune, and Lioren. She had imagined it would come like lightning—sudden and violent, an electric connection that would bind her to her fifth mate with the force of a storm. But this bond, the fifth, was different. It didn't arrive as a whisper. It didn't ease into her senses with the quiet, comforting pulse of connection.

Suddenly, a chilling stream of wine was poured onto my head. After the deed was done, Nicole casually threw away the bottle of wine and smirked mockingly. "Are you a sow, Penelope? How in the world are you able to still get pregnant after five miscarriages? I study medicine, so you can't trick me—I know signs of pregnancy when I see them.

He went to the shelf where the black-bound book with the initials N.5 lay and took it up. Just as Marley had done the last time she came here, he pressed the button lying hidden on the shelf.
