The creature leaned forward, and though its face was nothing but shadow, I felt its attention scrape against my skin like claws. “She carries the soul fragment.” Everyone tensed. Even Fenrir. “What soul fragment?” Gabriel demanded. The creature ignored him. Instead, it raised a hand, its long fingers stretching, curling and pointed directly at my chest. “The book followed her because it belongs to her essence. To her past. To what she was.” I stepped back, legs shaking. “No,” I breathed. “I don’t understand, what are you talking about?” The creature tilted its head again, movements jerky. “You do not remember. But you will. Soon.”

"Well...you left in such a hurry earlier that I forgot to give you something important." As he spoke, he carefully took out a rectangular object wrapped in soft cloth from an old fabric bag he carried with him. Unwrapping it revealed a handwritten manuscript bound in worn leather. The pages were yellowed with age, the edges rough with time, and faint traces of faded gold illumination could still be seen on the title page. Liam glanced at it. "A book?"

"She's still growing. We're still healing. Maybe the book doesn't need an ending. Just… a breath." She stared at him, mouth slightly open. Then she leaned over and drew a clean line across the bottom of the final page. And left the rest untouched. "I thought you might want to include this," she said, setting them gently on Maera's table.

I asked. Bibi Kamwe moved like a ghost, pulling a book from beneath the floorboards. The cover was made of some kind of dried, dark leather. It creaked when she opened it. The pages were stained, ink running in twisted scrawls. “You must make the vessel,” she said. “What vessel?”

Joe explained and then moved his pinky finger in the air. A big stone out of nowhere suddenly come in front of the person. The person tripped over and fell down, the blanket also dropped revealing the beautiful face of a middle aged women. Joe's eyes frowned but he continued staring at laptop screen. Ruby was walking casually around the book shelves, she was checking different books from different shelves randomly. Suddenly her eyes got stuck on certain special book. The book looks like an old ancient manuscript with a metallic bronze cover. There was a lot of dust on the cover as if this books is not touched from decades.

As she made her way to the living room, she called back, “Let’s get to work” Tara followed obediently. She hadn’t noticed the large cloth sack Maggie carried until the old woman reached inside and pulled out a thick, leather bound book. Tara stretched forward to take a closer look. The book showed years of wear. The binding was worn thin and the pages were yellowed. At the end of a long black ribbon that was glued within the binding of the book was an octagon shaped crystal that measured one and one-half inches in length and one inch in diameter.

On October 5th, while I was away on a business trip, he and Lucy spent the night tangled together on top of my clothes. My stomach churned violently. I rushed to the bathroom and threw up until my head spun. Then the auto-playing footage showed Lucas appearing in front of the safe. Most were thick ledgers with years stamped on them in fading gold ink. My fingers stopped on a book that was smaller than the others, wedged between two massive volumes. It had no title, just a piece of grey parchment stuck to the spine with a single word written in cramped script: Bonds. I pulled it out and sat on the floor between the stacks. The stone was cold, but I was hidden in the shadows. I opened the cover.
