Book Free Fall Novels & Stories

Tanner Three stories is a hell of a long way down. I’m standing at the window Henri fell from, my feet planted where his must have been less than twenty-four hours before. I imagine the pressure of two hands on my shoulder blades, of the sudden weightlessness as gravity takes hold. Had Henri been afraid while he was falling? Or had been too surprised to even realize what was happening? What would it feel like to fly for just a moment? Why don’t you try it and see?

Her eyes went crimson as the pain flooded over her. She realized she had to flee from him as quickly as possible. Her instincts shouted for safety, pushing her to keep a safe distance from him. She noticed that the lift was not moving when she looked at the floor number. “Why…. why is this lift not moving”

Shadows leaped, thickening into a dome over her head, but this wasn’t a neat beam or a discrete hazard—it was a chunk of the environment itself giving way under the strain. Her barrier caught part of the impact. Only part. The slab punched through, slowed but not stopped, heading straight for her ribs. “Selene!” I choked. There was no time to write on the floor. There is no time to reach a shelf. Only air between falling ceiling and her body. I didn’t think. I just stabbed the pen at the collapsing mass and dragged it sideways. The nib tore a jagged line in empty space, ink blazing in its wake. FALLS LIKE INK, NOT STONE.

Always traveling within Aldrich’s shadow, people’s admiring gazes wandering over our shoulders. I instantly went to retrieve a book from the section of healing. I climbed up the ladder in a haste, and plucked out a textbook. I moved too quickly, losing my step and clumsily falling from the ladder a couple yards onto the floor. When I landed, I cried; not because the fall hurt, but because I imagined my friend falling more than ten times this, and what he must have felt. I hugged my knees to my chest and cried for a minute. But I only allowed myself a minute.

The only thing I could think of was to hug him, and I don’t know if he appreciated it or not. Then the sound of the book falling to the ground made me startle, snapping me back into reality. Even Grace was startled. Neither one of us was expecting the book falling to make such a loud sound. “I’m so sorry.” I quickly bent down to pick it up. “Don’t worry. It happens, you’re still learning to balance and keep your posture.” Tears started to fill my eyes, and Grace noticed. “Hey. Hey. Don’t cry. Everything is fine.” “Can… Can we please stop… Just for today?”

And then the book falls to the ground with a loud thud. I let out a soft cry in fear as I stare at the big book on the floor like it's going to grow a big and wide mouth and swallow me up. What exactly have I gotten myself into??

The asphalt lifted up like a black ocean. Julian's body became solid again. He stumbled forward, catching the edge of the desk as the platform beneath them started to tilt. Julian yelled "Elara! The book is closing! The core is dumping everything into the world! We're falling back to the city!" The office chair slipped from under Elara as she slid down the wet desk. The laptop and keyboard slid past her plunging into a vortex of black water that had opened where the highway used to be. Elara did not let go of the journal. She held it to her chest as she fell backward into the dark, freezing void.

All I know is that I can’t breathe. “Matthew!” It was Cassie’s voice. “Landon, elevate his legs.” I heard her order Landon and I felt my legs propped up on something. Damn, that’s Cassie for you. Always keeping her cool. Shame on me for collapsing in front of her. I wonder how I could ever face her again after this.

Jenefer ignored that feeling, telling herself that she should be enjoying instead of worrying, but by the time they went on their separate ways, that feeling worsened, to the point that it made Jenefer uncomfortable. She was walking along an alleyway towards her house when she doubled over, the feeling that followed was the strangest of all, it felt like all the living daylights were fading off from her as she fell and the ground grew closer and closer. And by the time she was on the ground, she was already a goner. - Camera shutters were heard from left and right as flashes lit up the night. The police were bustling around, trying to keep the onlookers and the journalists at bay and to prev

"It's a strange coincidence. If she hadn't mocked me the other day, I wouldn't have remembered her. I wouldn't have taken the video either." "What goes around comes around," I thought to myself. As it turned out, my small act of kindness ended up helping me in the long run. On the contrary, Mia's evil deeds single-handedly caused her own downfall.
