I closed the book and kept it on the nightstand. My eyes felt heavy and I closed them Heavy..... So heavy..... It was like I was carrying a stone. And I was running.... Run! But I couldn't because of the heavy rock. But I had to run... And then I was falling. Falling into an endless pit of nothingness.... Falling and falling... "Wake up!" a voice commanded. Obey... A voice whispered in my ear delicately. "Wake up!" Something cold. It was cold, so cold.

Love and Light was Vanessa’s first home, her church—the one place where her fears dissipated, and sanity embraced her reality. Her mother taught her the values of living a good Christian life, and even taught her how to pray her first prayers before meals. It had been that way longer than Vanessa could remember, and every Sunday always seemed even more beautiful than the previous Sunday—the choir sang more cheerfully, the preaching was more fulfilling and the smiles she got from everyone around her were more inspiring. And it was this way every Sunday, until one Sunday when Vanessa learnt her boyfriend she had been dating for two years was cheating on her.

The shrill ring of the phone yanked me back to reality. I stared at the screen, feeling a cold dread creeping over me as I realized the call was from the property management. My mind raced—this was the call informing me that my daughter had fallen from the building. I grabbed the phone and rushed downstairs, my heart pounding in my chest. When I saw her lying in a pool of blood, I froze. In her tiny hand, she still clutched her favorite bunny doll.

And then the book falls to the ground with a loud thud. I let out a soft cry in fear as I stare at the big book on the floor like it's going to grow a big and wide mouth and swallow me up. What exactly have I gotten myself into??

Because of their heavy build and fast pace, a hard nudge and bump from one of them made me lose my balance. "Woah!" one of them blurted out, but it was too late. I felt my body tilt backward. My heavy textbook pulled me down with it, and in an instant, I knew I was about to fall. I closed my eyes, bracing myself for the embarrassment and the pain of hitting the floor. But it wasn't the concrete that caught me.

The compelling would be so strong, its not easy to resist' the text read. Kyra closed the book shut when she started to feel uneasy. She stood up so fast that the chair she was sitting on toppled over. She stumbled over one of the legs of the chair and fell back wards. Her arms flailing while she tried to stop the fall. She tried to grab the shelf, but accidentally grabbed a book that was placed in the corner at the middle row of that shelf. She saw the book moving out of the row, but got stuck. Her hand slipped and she couldn't stop her fall. She was expecting to fall on the floor, she did, but into the hole which was opened in the floor out of the blue.

he said softly, reaching out to pull the covers over us. But before I could speak, a loud SLAM echoed through the room. We both turned toward the sound. The heavy, leather-bound Book of Forgotten Truths had fallen from the counter where I’d left it, lying face down on the floor. I stood up, the midnight breeze from the open window hitting my naked skin. I walked toward the book, my heart racing. As I bent down to pick it up, I realised it had fallen open to a specific page.

I explained to him and they all nodded. I was really hooked on the book that I was reading. I was laying down and then sat and then laid back again but when I rolled to the side, I was expecting that it’s still my mattress but ended up on the floor instead. I did my best not to fall but I did, anyway and my elbow hit the cold hard floor. I was shocked by the pain because it feels like electricity that covers my body.

The door suddenly closed and she pushed me to the big hole and in an instant, I fell. I fall and fall like there is no end. “Aaaahh!!!” I shouted because of the never-ending fall. I saw her watching me fall with her cold eyes and emotionless face. I keep on falling like I was falling from a very tall building. The pressure is pulling me down. I don’t know where my falling ends but this is better than getting stuck in a place full of agony and hatred. I keep on falling and falling and falling…
