She then tucked the rest of her books under her armpit as she stood up and ran towards it. Her mouth fell slightly agape in surprise upon seeing a hand pick it up. Slowly, she lifted her gaze. “Is this yours?” Claire only managed to nod wordlessly. She then walked briskly towards him and snatched the book out of his hands without meeting his eyes. “Thanks”, she mumbled.

The library itself was a testament to the wisdom and knowledge accumulated over generations. The lighting in the library was a sight to behold. Bioluminescent sconces adorned the walls, casting a soft, ethereal glow that danced across the pages of the books. It was as if the wisdom contained within the volumes was brought to life by the gentle luminescence. And there was a large leather and gold clasp holding it closed which was engraved with more motifs of flames. The corners also each had a gold triangular brace, each with another fire opal in. The light gray walls with the white furniture helped open up the small space and the two floor-to-ceiling windows helped bring in the natural light from outside. She loved the clean and crisp feel of her room, it was relaxing. Her “book nook” was just a spot in front of the windows and a massive gray bean bag chair. She grabbed her latest book obsession, her white chunky knit blanket, and plopped into her spot.

His eyes watched Claire who walked towards the buffet and put the harmonious husband and wife manual into her drawer. “Grandma will be disappointed if she finds out that the book she gave me is just sitting there.” Alex was deliberately fishing. “I gave you the book so that we could learn how to increase harmony in the home.” Alex walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.
