She could destroy anything with a single scream of frustration. Walking along the shelves, my fingers run along the books when I see a book that seems to be calling to me. Moving towards it, I pick it up and turn the pages, just scanning the contents when the pages move on their own, stopping on a page. Reading the contents of the page, my beast snarls in my head. “Don’t you fucking dare do this Fen!” I shake my head with a sigh. Closing the book, it opens again to the page I was looking at.

I said, grinning from teeth to teeth like a child. We walked into the library. It looked like it had been a while, since it was in use. We went through several sections which included, finance, self-improvement, ethics, business amongst all. I caught a glimpse of a book I had been wanting to read, “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. I picked it immediately, and started going through it. After a while, I noticed I wasn't hearing any sound from the cook. I looked around and found her wiping tears off her eyes with the hem of her apron.

Alex's Pov The words on the page danced away from one another and then back together again, colliding and rolling over one another. They swam across the white background from one end to another and shrieked in alarm and scurried out of the way of one solitary raindrop. I blinked quickly, causing more raindrops to fall. I snapped the book shut. Crying was useless. I'd done enough of that the night before and again this morning. I dragged my forearm across my eyes a little forcefully, the rough fabric grazing my skin.

“IT–IT CAN’T BE!” Rosa began ripping books down. Thick volumes crashed around the feet of the chair. She choked on her sobs, hands trembling as she threw them all, one after another into the flood, crying like a mad woman. Pages fluttered open like gaping mouths whispering secrets she didn’t want to hear. Rosa climbed down and sank onto her knees, dropping herself in between the dark books. “I don’t believe it!” she wailed, hands clawing through the open pages. “I don’t–I don’t believe it!”

Maybe I am dreaming… yes, life has been so stressful recently and that is what is happening but that book keeps on grabbing my attention. Moving towards it, I see that the cover is practically made of crystal. It is so sparkly and I can’t resist touching it. As my hand drags along the book, I feel this longing towards it. As it were mine so I flip it open and a gust of wind hits me in the face and multiple images flashes in my mind.

Her treatment would worsen, and I did not want to. She smiled. “I am so happy your father is getting it all together, he is such a strong man.” She blinked her eyes to stop herself from crying. I knew I was going to burst into tears anytime soon seeing her like this. I did not want that so I excused myself, lying that I wanted to use the bathroom. She nodded and picked one of her favorite books from Colleen Hover; It Ends with Us.
