“Did you speak to the siren?” “Yes.” I held out the book. Her eyes widened instantly. “What is that?” “I… got my powers back. And… also this.” I placed the book into her hands. She gasped like the breath had been punched out of her. “Do you know what this is?” “I’m guessing something important,” I muttered. “This—” she traced the cover with trembling fingers, “—belongs to the Scarlet Witch.” Her reaction unsettled me. “You’ve seen this before?” I asked.

I roll my eyes when she inserts 'the'. "We'll get straight to the point here, Jade Cloud. We've been informed that you balanced books for the Spider a year ago before you retired. I'd really like to make this short for both you and I if you just cooperate with us." I say, placing a hand on Jayden's shoulder, making her look between us in shock. "I... I.. D" she starts. "Who the hell are the spiders?" She asks after composing herself. "As I said, cooperate with us, and we'll make this short. And we'll be done here. And don't think about lying to us." I say my voice cold and lower. I move towards her desk.

The door to her brother’s room stood open, a thin blade of lamplight cutting across the hallway floor. Inside, her father sat in the old armchair pulled close to the bed, shoulders curved inward as if the weight of the world had settled permanently on them. In his hands was the battered copy of Spider-Man: Kraven’s Last Hunt…the one her brother had read obsessively as a teenager, quoting Kraven’s monologues in a dramatic growl until everyone groaned and laughed. He was reading it aloud now, voice low and steady, the way he used to read bedtime stories when they were small.

Maria and Kim exchanged a glance, nodding in understanding as they absorbed Sherly's words. "I go by the alias Scorpio," Sherly continued, her tone serious. "It's been a long time, and I know that you guys know that Scorpio is the most feared alien in the underworld, right?" Maria and Kim nodded their heads. She smiled at them meaningfully. "And now, it's time for the two of you to choose your own aliases." Maria's eyes widened with excitement, while Kim furrowed his brow in confusion. "Why do we need aliases?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity. "Can't we just use our name?" he added.

Spider turned the surveillance cameras back on as soon as I climbed out of the window. I had the urge to get some Oreos and celebrate when I got back to my room but I couldn’t do that yet. Spider had made it out in one piece too but we couldn’t appear to have accomplished anything. I locked myself in my room to check out the record books instead. I would ship them off to Uncle Robert’s cabin the following day but I was too curious to stop myself from checking them out first. Except, the black one was no record book. It was a diary. No wonder it was not as huge as the red one.

Wilbur picked up the crystal core from the ant-man and the black broken sword from the ground, saying, "These look good. Let's go." The three of them soon arrived at B4 and then proceeded to B3. It was pitch black. Wilbur used the light spell to lead everyone in, only to find that the ceiling and the ground were covered with dense spider webs. As soon as the three of them entered B3, the three giant spiders seemed to sense the scent of prey and became extremely excited. They descended from the walls one after another, and the huge spiders rushed towards the three of them quickly.

Two Weeks Later Jasper eased himself into the chair opposite Rowan. Slight waves of pressure from the intense energy being emitted from the vampire who had saved his life caressed his body. Although he’d come to no harm since he’d been discovered by the ancient creature and was saved from death, he couldn’t help the nagging, unsettled feeling that remained constant. He’d yet to discover Rowan’s plans for him. Was he to become a vampire? Or, was he being saved as a food source for the many vampires that openly roamed about the estate?
