Most of its pages had faded with time. Some had been torn away entirely. Others were covered with stains that looked disturbingly like dried blood. Serafina felt an odd ache in her chest. As though she had seen this book before. But still, it feels impossible for her. Darius turned several pages. “This kingdom was called Blood Moon.”

“Is this some kind of joke?” Kiara asked frowning in confusion, waking up in the familiar podium where she once grew up watching people die in front of her as she herself fought for her own life. “I don’t know, but I don’t like this” Richard said from beside Kiara. The two were trying to process how they even got here to begin with. The curfew and ethical massacres were a sure sign that it was only a codified piece in a paper. “Positions!” sounded a soldiers voice while the men took their flanks ready to open fire on the preyed souls. I continued staring at all which unfolded in my eyes. Papa stared at me for the first time, nodded his head and gave a brief smile. I could feel the tears lurking around my eyelids. “Fire!” My heart beat increased almost taking off to another world, the loud cohoots of the bullets came tearing through all parts of my body sending chills and shivers around my veins.

I hoped to play the hero–or heroin. Blood painted the stone walls of the fortress, they smelt like fresh blood. Before me in a long hallway was a huge door with few lifeless men littering the door entrance. My heart thuds as I make my brave steps towards the door. What's behind the door could be the dreadful one who slayed the men I met on the way. Also the one who might be keeping Emmett captive, because for what I know, he was immortal.

She chuckled to herself, wondering why the authors bothered with such misleading names. One particular book caught her eye - 'Blood Lust'. Raven couldn't help but roll her eyes at the title, feeling annoyed at the lack of originality. "Might as well give the writers of these books a Nobel prize for nice book titles," she grumbled under her breath as she opened the book. The first picture she came across made her pause. It was a disturbing image of a man with his head buried deep in the neck of a woman who was sitting down, with blood dripping from her neck.

“I officially hate him.” I looked down at the book in my hands, my fingers tracing the worn leather cover as I stared at the silver wolf carved into the center. Beneath it were three faded golden words that seemed almost too fitting for the place I was in. Blood. Beasts. Bonds. I swallowed and carried the book over to the nearest table, where Rigina dropped into a chair with a tired groan before pulling the book toward her. “Let’s get this over with before that idiot comes back and finds another reason to insult you.”

Right before my eyes, he takes up his hand to the collection of books and he lets his blood drop on one in particular. I couldn’t be more stunned to see it disappear right into the book with no trace of his blood on it before he puts his hand down.
