“Hello.” “....” Silence. There’s no answer from across the phone. “Yeobseyo.” “....” Suddenly the caller hung up. Tiara just fell silent while staring at the phone screen. Weird. “Is it trying to scare me?” Tiara put the phone back down. Her hands are moving to clean up the old book. The book with the cover of ‘The Power of Darkness’ has a unique shape. The carving of roses with minimalist style on the cover looks real. Tiara’s never seen a book cover like this before. She tried to open the book, but it couldn’t open.

"Let us start from the open shelves once more." She went back to looking, this time taking her time and being meticulous. She was captivated by a book with a black cover. It was the first book she had come across with such a cover, so she carefully took it out and brushed the dust off of it. “It looked untouched for months.” She opened it and began reading it slowly. "This is the book." Her eyes widened as she attentively read it. "This is the butterfly symbol and Nathan's royal seal," she sighed, relieved that she had finally gotten what she desired.

As if the owner had to leave in a hurry. If this is the place she writes down all her important stuff… then it just might be what we need to find t “Maybe we’ll find something inside…” I say aloud. The clasp of the book is a masterpiece of brutality and symbolism. Made of heavy metal, it is adorned with tiny skulls and bones, reminders of the lethal power contained within the tome. The clasp seems to demand a blood pact to be opened, with a small blade embedded, ready to make the necessary cut. When I finally open the Bloodbound Codex, I feel the temperature around me drop abruptly, as though the very air had been sucked into the book. The woven bookmark has a faded blue tassel and was made of woven threads depicting wolves running in a forest, at the bottom of the bookmark was an old wolf’s tooth with a hole drilled through to be able to tie it onto the bookmark.
