I turn around, walking backwards with a huge smile on my face. “Zoe’s going to meet me. We’re having lunch together.” He smiles and immediately starts teasing the shit out of me. “The great Tomas Singh is this excited about meeting a she-wolf? A new casino in Clyde, Marion, has been the target of gang violence. According to eyewitnesses, the bar was burnt down by members of a notorious gang in the city. The police are investigating the incident and are warning the public to stay away from the area."

Lorenzo demanded, his voice cold and sharp. “Yes, sir. Of course, sir. I will do everything in my power to make sure you’re guests are well taken care of. Please forgive this mistake, sir. I hope you can forget about it. I won’t allow another mistake like this to happen again,” Violetta said, biting her lip nervously. She turned around to leave but Lorenzo stopped her. “Oh and Red? I want her for me. Just for me.”

I yell and struggle under him. He lifts himself but only enough to hover and glare at me, “You are in no position to make demands right now,” he seethes through his teeth. A pause, how do you respond to something like that in a way that won’t lead to you losing your life? I suddenly give him the brightest smile I can muster, “Red looks good on you Parks,” I reach out and touch his ears, “All we need now is smoke coming out of this and you will be perfect.”

I scoffed quietly. The same words, the same actions, the same expression. Blood poured from below her belly, staining the seat of my Ferrari. "Madeline! Please hold on, it's a red light!" Madeline clutched her belly, her voice rising in a sharp, piercing tone. "Matt, are you trying to kill me? You've got to run the red light! I can't take it anymore!" I twirled my finger absentmindedly on the steering wheel. "Madeline, running the red light is illegal and I'll get a fine. We should be good citizens, right?"

Kora’s POV The sky turned red as dusk settled over the compound, streaks of gold fading into a deep burnished orange. The training field looked different at this hour—emptier, quieter, the air charged with the kind of tension that always came before a storm.
