I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed. I folded my arms and read their names. The Claiming Rites, Finding the One, and Under the Red Moon. There was no order in which anyone should read these books, so I sat down and picked up The Claiming Rites. After an hour, I finished reading. The book made zero sense, and then I picked up Finding the One and spent another hour reading through it. While the first book was incomplete, the second made a little more sense. I picked up the third, which I had gone to Zion’s room with. I took my time reading, and another hour went by.

For the first time, hesitation crept into my heart. It was not because of Phoebe. It was because I realized that the trip had been like a mirror, reflecting parts of myself I had always avoided seeing. I began to wonder whether I had long grown tired of a life that felt too predictable, only lacking the courage to admit it. One weekend, Shanine brought up the idea of taking another short trip with Phoebe. Looking into her hopeful eyes, I suddenly understood something. That the third book's readers are finding each other in a way the first two books' readers did not. The first book found practitioners. The second found people deciding whether to commit. The third is finding people at the beginning of their lives asking: what kind of person do I want to build toward?

Zoe stared at the book, her fingers hovering over its worn cover, tracing the cracks in the leather and the faint symbols etched into its spine. It felt… alive. Not in a way she could explain, but there was something ancient about it—something that pulsed beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered. The Book of Life, her heart raced, every answer she had been searching for… could be inside.

And there are only few creatures that can read it, a destined creature needs to have a hold of this book. But speaking of my birthday? Is it just a coincidence or what? It's also my twenty-fifth birthday so It really gave me goosebumps. It was my favorite book in the whole world, I had had it since I was fourteen and I had this belief it brought me luck and the good Lord knew I needed all the luck in this world to scale the next fourteen days. 6:12AM. I still had time to kill, literally I wish I could kill time. It'd be nice to be able to control time, to switch the hands of the clock forward and backwards at will. To go back to correct some mistakes, to experience some things once again.
