"My thanks," I muttered, passing the box to a waiting enforcer without looking at it.

Booker nudges Sonya, and she gives him a wolfy grin, taking off at top speed towards the lake house. He barks and follows, sniffing the air cautiously as they run. He cares for Sonya and her human, and he doesn't think his own human is careful enough with them. Every time he gets control, he checks for every scent in the immediate area, and if he doesn't recognise it as one of Avery's pack members, he goes on high alert and gets ready to attack. Sonya skids to a halt, staring at Booker excitedly before she playfully pounces on him, baring her teeth as she tackles him to the ground.

Alan replied. "That's my wine bar over there. They have the best wine. Go make yourself comfortable." Following, was an unnerving silence as Adrian watched Alan pour white wine into his glass and take sips, his mind at unease as he wondered what kind of news Alan wanted to release. "Wolves in neighboring packs are getting kidnapped, but none got missing from your pack. They are beginning to think you're collaborating with humans to steal your own kind." Alan paused, taking a sip as if to let his words sink in.

She dropped her backpack on the ground, lay down on the green fluffy grass, then looked up at the treetops. His eyes were suddenly on fire now. With that annoying look he left the room, leaving me all puzzled. Freaking Artemis and his hormones. __________ It's been two days since I last saw Artemis. He's literally gone as if he didn't exist. Today while I was walking in the garden, I saw a kitten crying beside a small pine tree. It was so cute but it's white fur was dirty. Since I was alone and the kitten was also alone, we can be besties. I grabbed it in the house, gave it a hot shower, fed it meat from Artemis' refrigerator collection and finally it's sleeping in my bedroom peacefully.

“Anything with an engine, we can tow, fix or build.” I nodded. “And you said ‘club.’ I’m assuming it’s not a sewing club, right?” Booker smiled. “Motorcycle club.” I stopped. It took him a minute to realize I was no longer beside him, which gave me a partial view of the back of his jacket. Dogs of something. Dogs of Wonder? No, that wouldn’t be right… a badass motorcycle guy wouldn’t have Dogs of Wonder on the back of his jacket. Well, crap! He walked back toward me. “You okay?”
