A vampire for the werewolf

A vampire for the werewolf

My mind was consumed with thoughts of the accusations against me and the possible consequences that could follow. But I knew I had to try to calm myself down, and reading was always a source of comfort for me. So I forced myself to focus on the book, to let the words wash over me and transport me to another world. Slowly but surely, I felt my tense muscles start to relax and my racing thoughts begin to slow.

The novels, which she had in a certain quantity in her room, were occasionally picked up by one of the employees who advised her during the day. According to the authors and genres she liked. Now, alone, Rúbia went through all the sectors, meticulously organized in alphabetical order. For those that used to be of interest to her without even looking at the sessions and, towards the end of the collection, reaching the books that deal with the pastime prescribed by Magalhaes. “If you feel a certain amount of anxiety, similar to mental hunger, try to focus on this game and everything related to it. The Therapy of Letting Go

The Therapy of Letting Go

Peter left, feeling satisfied. The door closed behind him. In the dark, I lay alone on the couch. The clock on the wall ticked softly. That familiar loneliness from our first breakup crept back in again. Only this time, it didn’t feel suffocating. It felt like my withdrawal was finally easing. The memories of our breakup came rushing back. It all began one late night. Julia sent Peter a message: [Peter, I’m getting a divorce.] From that moment, something changed in him.

The Bookstore Temptation

The Bookstore Temptation

Her cathedral. She slouched into her best corner chair—stuffed, tufted velvet in tired blue—pullding out a book from her tote. A quiet night's reading before bed was now her ritual, and for tonight, she opened what was familiar and comforting: *The Light Between Oceans*. The book always bore its imprint on her. Loss. Forgiveness. Breaking and binding decisions. She opened to the top of it, and the world disintegrated. Somewhere in the city—several stories above, in a steel and glass building—Julian Blackwood lay in his dark, sleek bedroom, staring at the book she had given him.

Alpha's Caged Mate

Alpha's Caged Mate

Ava shifted uncomfortably in the plush upholstered seat as she peered around the tastefully decorated room. The pleasantly packed bookshelves and walls decorated with calming landscapes were designed to put people like her at ease. But, even after all of this time, she still found it difficult to get settled in enough to concentrate on opening up. Which is a ridiculous concept in and of itself, she scoffed to herself. The idea that relaxation in any form is redundant…and not to mention utterly frustrating–

Winning Her Back

Winning Her Back

The world beyond the window was distant, peaceful. I opened the book, my fingers touching the reassuring texture of the pages. The words shimmered a bit at first, my focus fractured by residual fatigue. But slowly, steadily, the story began to pull me in. The intricate political machination of a centuries-old court was a welcome distraction from my own convoluted existence. The cadent rustle of pages, the soft whisper of paper, the focused effort of staying abreast of the narrative, it was a meditation. My breathing slowed, the frenetic rhythm of the last several days finally slowing to the subdued cadence of the night. The strain in my jaw, which I had not even realized was still shut, bega

Bound by Crystals and Shadows

Bound by Crystals and Shadows

The stillness helped, not enough to make everything disappear, but enough to dull the sharp edges of it. When I finally stepped out and dressed, the room felt calmer than before, or maybe it was just me. I reached for the book I had taken from the hall, settling back onto the bed as I opened it, letting my eyes move over the familiar pages. The scent of aged paper mixed faintly with the lingering warmth in the air, and soon my thoughts shifted from everything that had been weighing on me to the quiet focus of reading. Herbs. Remedies. Elixirs.

The Alpha's Castaway Mate: Mummy, Is He Our Daddy?

The Alpha's Castaway Mate: Mummy, Is He Our Daddy?

I explained, hopping onto his bed. Rhett finally paused his game and looked at me with one raised eyebrow. “That’s your definition of relaxing?” I nodded. “I think so.” He smirked. “There are lots of ways to relax, Ruby. Watching movies, going for a walk, praying, exercising, meditating, getting a massage—” “Massage?” I giggled. “Yes, massage,” Rhett said, rolling his eyes. “But for me, relaxing means playing my games.” I hummed, pretending to think really hard about it. “Hmm… I see.”

The Dawn Falls

The Dawn Falls

"It’s wonderful. Now I can place more books on it." "Then you can buy more books," Felix added. I was amazed by the number of books he brought home. a box of books circulating around the internet that I’m definitely curious about. "Books are your own kind of drugs." "No, books are her babies," Jay corrected. They’re both right. Buying books is, for me, a form of addiction. Reading them transports me to different places. It makes me feel like I'm talking to people I've never met in my life. It entertained me in a good way, without any harm. Romances make me feel the kiss of true love. Horror, thrillers, and suspense chilled my bones from skull to toe. Historical fiction taught me a lot about

Awakening - Rejected Mate

Awakening - Rejected Mate

My body weak with relief, and I sprawl out star shaped on my bed, exhaling so heavily I let out a whoosh noise and then moan at my own stupid despair. Stop freaking out, Alora. You’re going to get yourself in such a mess and not be able to follow through. Relax, breathe, count. I put everything into doing just that, remember the techniques I used to use when I stayed in the home and couldn’t relax or sleep on nights when everything got to me too much. I picture a meadow, a sweet-scented field full of pretty flowers, and one by one as I walk through them, I count the heads, picking them out, touching them as I go. I visualize the colors, the feel of their softy silky petals on my fingers, and

it was a very good book. It does however get a little repetitive with the constant backtrack to their emotions. Pages of wallowing on emotions over the past inbetween vital events, which gets broken into small segments with a few paragraphs of dwelling emotions inbetween.
