Novel & Cerita Books I Can Read On My Phone

We say our goodbyes and I toss my phone onto the couch next to me, looking around the room. It's quiet when Santos has the kids. Almost too quiet. And there's nothing to do. I've deep cleaned the entire apartment from top to bottom. I've done four loads of laundry and put it all away. I even threw dinner in the crockpot already, so my regular chores are done. I tap my fingers on my leg and the Kindle shoved between couch cushions catches my eye. Ooh. I could read for a bit. What is the name of that author I like? The one who writes about all those bearded brothers? Penelope Reads? Penny Reads? Penny Reid! That's it!

After a quick dinner, I head to the shower and then straight to bed. This piece of furniture—I absolutely adore. I miss it when I’m away and daydream about it. Household chores can wait until tomorrow; tonight, I can let myself relax. To distract myself from the day’s fuss and the monotony of my life, I grab my phone and open one of my favorite reading apps. Now this is where things get interesting! Where the characters truly live life to the fullest—love and hate, passion and contempt, friendship and rivalry, loyalty and betrayal, scandals, intrigue, investigations!

"Darkest Night, it's the second book in a thriller series. I just started reading it today morning after I reached back home. And I already finished 90 pages." "Wow! That's so fast." I say. "Cause it's interesting. I think I'm gonna read it in between History class," he says. "You do that?" I ask, tilting my face to him in surprise. He nods to me. "I always read library books in between classes. But reading on phone is a bit riskier. I have done that only a few times. And I almost got caught once." "So, you aren't really a frontbencher like I thought? Where's your usual seat?"

My phone pinged and I brought out my phone that was tucked under one of my pillows. I spent the last two days using my phone, and I got a hang of it. I found out how to play games, and I d******ded a bunch. I also figured out that I could d******d books, and that made me excited for a second because I always loved to read books. But we couldn’t afford them. Books were quite expensive here and the libraries were for the elite only, so I was stuck with reading whatever I come across that was readable. I started to read a romance book there, and I enjoyed it.

I didn't even notice Aiden had finished his shower until his deep voice rumbled right next to my ear: "What's got my wife so captivated?" I jumped, my phone slipping from my fingers onto the bedsheet. I snatched it back, quickly closing the e-reader app and returning to the home screen before shooting him a guilty glance. "Just reading a novel." "Reading on your phone isn't good for your eyes. I'll have Lucas get you a Kindle." I cringed slightly but nodded. "Thanks." Aiden studied me, his eyes never leaving my face. "What kind of novel? Any good?" "Just some romance Lillian sent me. Nothing special—just killing time." I fidgeted with the edge of the comforter, my tell when I'm lying.

I don't have any pending assignments right now, so I thought I'd read a story on the Good Novel app first. Ever since I couldn't buy physical books anymore, I started reading different stories about fantasy and romance on this app. At least I'm having fun, especially when I'm stressed out over school work and other stuff. I'm reading Miss Thinz's story Her Ruthless Alpha because I love Erdy and Zerra's story. I hope I can find a man like Erdy. They're not just handsome and rich, but they're also really loving and caring. But those kinds of men can only exist in novels.

It's Saturday night and I have nothing to do, through with my book — sadly — and too lazy to read on my phone. It's way into the night and I'm beneath my blankets, phone poised above my face as I try to find something interesting to do. I could play Candy Crush, but I've been stuck on one level for close to four weeks.

Sunlight streams into the room and I twirl around basking in it. "I trust you won't leave here until you have to pick Miss Kareena up from school, right?" She asks. "Yes." "Good." She smiles and walks out of the room. I am a reader. I love reading anything I can lay my hands on and this, right here is paradise. There are science books, nonfictional books, fictional stories and whatnot. I don't know which one I want to read first but I know what I want to do first. I take my phone from my pocket, turn it on and unlock it then go to my call history, click on Mr Cruz's number to call and put the phone in my ear. It rings for a long time until he finally picks up.
