She began clearing out my room with swift, decisive movements. My school books, the cheap toys I treasured, the posters I had secretly taped to the wall, and everything that belonged to me were stuffed into several large black trash bags without a moment of hesitation. The bookshelf was emptied, the desk was wiped clean, and the closet was stripped bare. In the end, she even scrubbed down the wooden bedboard over and over, as if she was determined to erase every trace of my existence. My breath caught in my throat. I couldn’t move, my body was shaking vigorously. And my hands trembled as I clutched my book tighter against my chest. This… this was corruption at its peak. This was disgusting. This was the university my stepfather had paid for? No. No, this couldn’t be happening. Students sex their way to higher grades!
