I looked at the bookshelves.
Floor-to-ceiling. Organized with the same precision as everything else Damien controlled, by subject, I thought, though some of the groupings were non-obvious and had a logic I hadn't yet been able to fully decode. There were sections I understood, business, law, economics, and sections whose organizing principle was less clear but which clearly had one.
Between two sections, propped without a frame, was a photograph.
