Savannah was seated on one of the cane chairs at the porch, dipping daintily from her cup of tea as she flipped through a glossy magazine. She raised her head as soon as I stepped out of the car, a frown on her face as I stepped down from my car and when she saw the suited men in black, stepping down with their armor intact, she dropped the magazine and hurried down the porch steps. "What are you doing here, Asher?!" She snapped, anger creeping into her face. Haven't you done enough? What the hell are you doing here, huh? "You even came with soldiers?! Have you not caused enough problems for us? You still have the nerve to humiliate us in this manner?"

I walked toward it quietly and peeked inside. Savannah was standing right by a reading desk. My eyes dropped to her hands—she was standing right by a half-open drawer, and in one quick motion, she slid something small into the pocket of her jacket. I froze, suddenly feeling uneasy. What the hell was she doing? Before I could say anything, Savannah turned around. The second she saw me standing in the doorway, she gave me a smile, completely unbothered. “Oh! There you are,” she giggled, stepping away from the desk. “I was wondering where you went and got a little lost looking for the bathroom. This library is beautiful.”

Everleigh murmured, not sure how to feel about the sudden revelation. Savannah seemed eager to lighten the mood. “Don’t mind them,” she said, waving a hand dismissively. “The real question is—do you like the food?” Everleigh smiled, her tension easing. “Yes, it’s delicious.” Savannah’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “There’s a place here called Paradise. The food is phenomenal.” Both Rufus and Theo visibly stiffened at the mention of the name, their expressions turning comically wary. Everleigh’s brows furrowed in confusion. “Why do they look nervous when you mention Paradise?” she asked Savannah curiously.

Savannah also noticed Darin and gave him a disdainful glance. Felicia went outside after spotting Savannah. She shivered as soon as the chilly breeze reached her. Savannah fussed over Felicia, fixing her scarf and cap while shutting her umbrella. Felicia appeared to be a small bear with all her coverings. "Come on," said Savannah. She raised the umbrella once again, embraced Felicia, and they set off. Savannah slowed down to maintain a firm grip on Felicia because the rain had made the pavement sticky.

Sarah We unloaded the SUV and went inside. I felt bad because Joshua had to ask for help carrying my heavy suitcase. Nate didn’t seem to mind though. It seemed like the least he could do after violating me like that. I’d been tempted to tell on him, but decided against it, too afraid Joshua would get pissed off and dump me. I wasn’t going to let that asshole Nate ruin our perfect getaway. “So, where do you want me to take your suitcase?” Nate asked.

Savannah opens her legs and wraps her arms around me, clinging to me. “If it’s ok, I would really like to just be alone with you. I think we have a lot to talk about.” She speaks softly into my chest, and I notice her subtly smelling my shirt. At least she isn’t running. I beam with pride as I turn to look at Ebony, who only smiles and shakes her head in approval.

Savannah’s trip to CN province is another hour on the plane. Excitement and mixed emotions are setting in. Will they be able to recognize me or will I may be able to recognize them? It was sunny but a little bit windy in CN province when Savannah arrived. She was met by her friends, had the prelim lunch, said hello to one another. It was a sumptuous lunch, happy moments, and picture taking. They agreed to meet again at dinner time. Meantime, Savannah checked in at Bella’s bed and breakfast for 20 days. Her plan is to walk on the beach every morning, do some writing, take pictures and will visit the famous butterfly farm in the area.
