This is a fictional world where some things may seem familiar but are out of the ordinary in this land. Everything written here is of my own imagination and any similarities between this and other works is purely coincidental. Thank you for giving my book a chance!! Alex shouted as he bolted out of the room. Back in the bedroom, Chase was sitting at the desk reading a book Justin had bought for Alex. The textbooks in Haven State were different from the ones in Merika State, though the content was similar. The methods were more concise and straightforward, making them feel almost like a fresh way to study. Alex snatched the book away. “Come on, Chase, stop reading! We’re running out of time! Put on my clothes and meet me at Aunt Helen’s door right now.” “Wait, what?” Chase frowned.

I crash on the sofa beside Raine, drowning out the sounds of the TV. I wake up at midnight with an idea. A brilliant, deadly idea. It could save our lives if successful, but kill us both if it fails. My savings for my rent are more than enough to pay for train tickets to Green Lake, a small town in Idaho where a distant aunt of ours lives. Aunt Shirley was mostly deaf when last I had seen her and a bit strict. Green Lake is a dot on the map. That would give me enough time to think. Get authorities involved. Run some more. Get Raine a new identity and away from me.

The bookshelf was just as tall as Andrew so he could easily access the books there. The bookshelf had all sorts of books, ranging from fictional novels to nonfictional novels, to educational novels and textbooks. Her eyes caught titles like; The Redwall series by Brian Jacques, Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros and a lot more. Even the Encyclopedia was in his bookshelf. And there was also some novels on the basis of business and finance. The book the lad was currently reading was The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.

He heads to the mall’s food court area to unpack the items and check out the plots as well. The series is a medley of genre set in a dystopic time. He is amazed at the condition of the books, they feel… brand new? He takes his time to admire and study their condition for almost a hundred times. As he grabs the orange books, he feels the hard cover and runs his hand on the embossed title – The Darkest Minds.

In her hands, she held a very beat-up copy of ‘Of Mice and Men. “Oh, Harriet! Thank you!” I squeezed my best friend before clutching the book to my chest. She grinned at me before she turned back to run back to where Matt was. I found my feet leading me back towards the creek. Away from the burned buildings, away from the chard remains of the carnival, and away from the dead. The thought of the packhouse was suffocating on a carefree regular day. Now there was over three times the amount of people shoved in there. For some reason, I felt like the creek was where I should be, like something in my gut was pulling me there.

"A connection for us finally." "What the hell are you talking about?" Ren poked between her forehead. "The rings are a connection. Our bedroom is a connection. Hell, the taste in books are a connection. What else do you want?" "I.. well cultivation we didn't have one." "Because we fight differently. Whoopee do. Of all the stupid things." Ren rolled his eyes not wanting to say anything else really. "If this little thing broke you, I need to reevaluate some plans." *Yank!* Melinda grabbed Ren in a death grip.

he paused, eyes searching hers for any hint of doubt. "So please, don’t think otherwise." Imogen’s eyes brightened, and a smile curved on her lips. "Sure… but you owe me big time." ************* Snow flipped through the pages, her eyes scanning the words carefully. She was clearly in the library. Since no one was home—her mom and dad were both busy with pack duties—she’d taken the chance to read. The book was about the beginnings of werewolves, their existence, and everything in between. Everything seemed normal, the same beats about being betrayed by a mate. Snow couldn’t help but softly bite her lip before shutting the book closed.

Like we’ve done for years. "So what's with you and Aidan?" Jared asks between mouthfuls of chocolate mint ice cream. "What do you mean?" I reply after taking a long licked from my vanilla soft serve. "Well yesterday he came to ask me about your book. And it was weird because it was the 3rd one in the series. He didn't even know it was yours or your name. He just wanted a background check on it so I told him it was yours. He then Alpha commanded me to tell him everything about you. He said it was a clue. What's going on there?"
