Books That Make You Think. Novels & Stories

"We are losing the heartbeat." ~~~ Seriously though, all my books have knives and guns. I just realized that :P Don't be a silent reader. Comment your thoughts?

‘And I think as of the moment, I’m having writer's block. Jamia: ‘Then walk,’ she said. ‘One of the CEOs, well I forget who’s CEO is that, but then he said, the best ideas formed when we walk.’ Irina: ‘Sure, I’ll do that,’ I said. ‘Have you finished the book I sent you, The Time Traveler’s Wife?’ Jamia: ‘Yes,’ she said. ‘I am now reading the second book you sent me, your favorite, Tuesday with Morrie by Mich Albom.’

I sounded so loud and shocking. Adelaide froze, before she turned slowly. “And why not?” Because it’s dangerous. Because every story I ever heard about these books ended badly. But what I said was different. “Those texts influence the mind,” I said. “They make people see things that are not real.” Adelaide stared at me like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “You think I’m imagining things?” “That is not what I said.” “It is exactly what you said.” The room suddenly went silent, as we both stared at each other.

As I perused the books, I could feel Aidan’s gaze on me. The shop, much like the one downstairs, boasted an impressive selection. These were books to be enjoyed in the coffee lounge, not purchased or taken home. A smile tugged at my lips as I reached the romance novel section. So, Well Thumbed had these too. I wondered if they had hidden gems, perhaps something I hadn’t read or that Uncle Alex’s book club, Bound To Please, hadn’t discovered yet.

I couldn't stop thinking about him. Not in the least. In just a few days, he was able to make me think about him. But not overly. I've read books where the two lovers see something and they immediately think about the other. I'm not like that. I just thought of him when he came to mind. Like when you think of a food you want to eat. Or how you long for a season you're not in. Something like that.

I heard him end the quiet, just now acknowledging how I lost myself in thinking. I lifted my head and stared at his scrutinizing look, and allowed my eyes to fall onto the book again before replying, "Certainly not, this book has it all: class conflict, politics, religion, women’s rights, and passion. It makes you think, it makes you reflect on what was and it makes you ponder how we got from one point to another." I expressed it without holding back. I found it refreshing to pour my mind out to someone who doesn't totally detest me.

With a gentle hug, I put the book down and immediately left for work. At 5:30 I was behind the shop waiting for my employers. I began to think about what happened last night. I was contemplating how a small book could increase in size by itself. The book could talk and give instructions for humans to follow. What amazed me more was the fact that fire of blood could rest in a bowl and the book didn’t burn but when I put my hand I was burning that I could even felt the fire even in my intestines.

It is Divergent, insurgent, and Allegiant first edition series, the notebook, The fault in our stars, and Shakespeare books. "I didn't know what kind of books you like, so I just picked the ones I think you might love"a voice startled me, and I placed my hand over my chest. "You scared me, " "Sorry," there is a dark grey wardrobe just behind the door. And a matt on the floor, a white round table at the corner. "It's fine really, I think I will read them. It's been a while since I have read an addictive book, maybe I will find one in these books. Who knows"I shrug, and sit on the bed.
