The book that she handed to me piqued my interest. ‘The Art of What-if’ “Something that very few people know about me is that I carry a rare genetic disorder that makes it nearly impossible to conceive, and if someone with it does, then they run the risk of passing it onto their pups. I had always wanted to be a mother, and I felt like my heart was shattered when I was diagnosed. My grandmother gave me this book, and it changed my entire viewpoint. There was an infinite amount of ‘what-if’ scenarios. Instead of focusing on them, we need to ask ourselves ‘what if I don’t’ and that answer often times provides more clarity than any other line of thinking. I want you to read at least the first t

I mutter. There is no use trying to hide thoughts from a quantum mega mind like his. He knows every thought, every atom, every blade of grass in this world. "Because I coded the entire thing," he comments off-handedly as if picking thoughts from the air like droplets of rain is a normal thing. I know it isn't. I have seen every movie, book, play and picture ever conceived of. And my favourite is a children's book named " The Forbidden Fruit - by Redd Edwards.

Life's too short for that energy. But if you love it? If something makes you laugh out loud, or cry when you're not expecting it, or think about it hours after you've put the book down? Instead of thinking deeply, I simply change my thoughts. Maybe nothing really includes this place on the map. I didn't think deeply because it might affect myself again. My mind is so full right now of what I discover. That's enough first. I lay down on my bed and my eyes caught sight of the book next to me. I got up immediately and picked it up. This is the book the woman that gave me at the library. The girl who is the magician. I didn't notice that I get this book up until here. I looked at its cover and it was written here, The History of Chicago. Pretty interesting because I already know something about the place I'm stepping on, but I'm so tired right now to read more.

Sabeerah brought them out one by one. Muslim Girl and If I Speak by Umm Zakiyyah, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, Three Daughters Of Eve by Elif Shafak, On Black Sister's Street by Chika Unigwe, And Then There Was None by Agatha Christie, A Time To Kill by John Grisham and finally, A History Of The Wives Of Prophet Muhammad by Umam Kahn. She picked up the last book which was actually a journal and tucked in its side were plack pencils with bookish scribbles on them.

Books aren’t meant to be some kind of museum.” She continued, “Words are meant to be poetic. They are meant to be in such a way so your mind can think. Books are supposed to take you to different places, places where you can’t go.” “I will try next time,” I sighed. “I suggest that you do that as much as possible. Even the wisest men in this world read books because even they don’t know everything,” she comforted.
