"Sure, you can borrow it," she said. "Thanks," I said. "Do you like dragons?" She nodded again. "Yes, I love dragons," she said. "They're my favorite animals." "Me too," I said. "They're awesome." We started talking about dragons, and we found out that we had a lot in common. We both liked fantasy books and movies, we both liked drawing and writing stories, we both liked animals and nature.

I also knew that if anything should happen that would make Azian turn against us, then my efforts would all have been in vain, and I would be the last of the line of the great witches. But as long as their was hope..hope, I would not hesitate to protect him. I nodded, "yes, yes I am sure" I answered looking straight into her dark eyes. She smiled, "well, then we have a lot of work to do then with them, masking their Aurora and training their dragons" I nodded, " good thing my aunt gave you those dragon books, have you read anything of interest pertaining to them?" She thought for a second furrowing her eye brows, "well, I know we need a hell of a large back yard"

The air grew thick with the sound of turning pages and the scent of dust they were disturbing for the first time in decades. Nate’s mind reeled as he read. The books spoke of creatures he’d only ever seen in movies. There were bestiaries detailing dragons, their scales described with metallic precision. He found genealogical charts for vampiric bloodlines and treaties on fae territories. It was a hidden history of the world, all contained in this impossible room, and he could barely believe any of it was real. The books themselves were artifacts, some dating back hundreds of years, their pages brittle and their ink faded. “So… dragons? Vampires? They’re real?” Nate breathed, his voice hushed

Most of the other books in the library were ancient, brown and huge, but these looked magical. The first one she grabbed was blue, with the pages sparkly and thick. As she opened it, she saw that it was a book for water lilies. She didn’t even know those things existed. It fascinated her that there were actually small water creatures that lived in lakes and had powers. She wanted to sit and read the entire thing, but she knew she couldn’t. The other book she grabbed was about dragons. It had everything from the bloodline that formed them, to the very thing that could destroy them all.

Please note that the events of this chapter took place in book 2. --------------------------------------------- LOCATION: The Supernatural Realm AREA: Ignere Forest The shake of the earth, and the pungent smell of burnt grass after the residue of magic, was a clear sign the dragon kind was far from extinct. The King of Dragons stood at the edge of the large plain laid out before him. The field lay barren and wasted as the last patch of dead brown grass was scorched out of existence. Across this field were twelve large pits and in each of these pits were two dragons battling it out with fire, ash, magic, and the will of a warrior.

I raise my brow at her, folding my arms over my chest. “Everyone knows it is not possible for a dragon without an affinity to use magic,” I remark. “Not possible or never tried? Those with an affinity can naturally wield magic without ever learning. However dragons are magical beings, so it is safe to assume you too can learn magic,” she proposes. I lean back in my seat, arms folded over my chest. It has always been said that if you do not have an affinity, you cannot use magic. Was all that a lie? Or did no one ever try and learn magic?

"How do you even know about the great book?" Sighing, Luca moved towards the back of the cave. Leaning against the rocky wall, he frowned. "After you were infected with the poison, by all rules you should've died..." Gazing at the fire he continued. "The great book had a connection with you, the same way you do with other Dragons. Before the poison could take your life completely, the Great Book sent her last energy to you..." Snapping his gaze back to me, his face hardened. "She has chosen you to have her energy, to live on in her name and help other riders... To be the saviour of the Dragons."

He fluttered his eyes and gazed at the book instead. “Why do you say it’s Dracula? ‘Zalmoxis’ is a Dacian god from what I know.” “You know this book?” she asked, surprised. “Yes. I read extraordinary books as my pastime, too. I am interested in other topics besides those given at school. So, why do you think it’s Dracula we’ll meet?” “It is because I constantly hear his name in my head.” Elise just stared at the book she was holding and spoke again.

Taran hands me a package wrapped in paper: “I brought you a present.” “Thank you,” I reply. I unwrap the package to find a magic book as Taran explains, “I know you didn’t get to practice a lot of magic in the last couple of years. If you are interested, I can help you.” “I didn’t know dragons could use magic,” I reply while flipping through the book. “You will surpass me in a few months, but I can use magic. Most dragons have a natural magic, and the royal dragons can use spells.” Taran shrugs, “We can make charms and potions too, but I’m not very good.”
