My Cold Husband

My Cold Husband

She said. Aaron leaned back, tilting his head skyward. “You know…maybe its nice I get to be here with you for your first time." He smiled at her. "It’s strange how quiet moments like this can feel heavier than the loud ones.” He continued. Lily turned her head slightly, studying his profile-the sharp line of his jaw, the way his brow furrowed slightly as if his thoughts were miles away. Aaron cleared his throat lightly, breaking the moment. “You know, there’s this little bookstore nearby. It’s quiet, kind of hidden. You’d probably like it."

The Rutherford Series

The Rutherford Series

"Summer is almost here, and people will be getting their play areas in order. He's had these slumps before, right?" "He has. They just have never seemed so severe." "Well, if you two need anything just let me know, you hear?" She smiled as she said, "Thank you." "And how about Selby? How is the bookstore doing?" Faith's phone went off again, vibrating on the table. A quick glance revealed another text from Edwin. Faith fought the urge to read it. "Business is going pretty well. He's thinking of adding a magazine rack like the bigger brick and mortar stores as well as newspapers. He thinks he can pick up some more downtown business that way." Her phone vibrated again.

There are rows and rows of colorful books. And I am so overwhelmed by what we're trying to find. Whose bright idea was it come to a book store to find a birthday present for toddler? Oh, right. Mine. But Quincy seems like the kind of mom who would appreciate the idea of an educational present for her son. And then there's the ice water at the coffee shop here, which you can't get anywhere else. So I'll just push through my frustration. A colorful book with a bright picture of a baby in a swing catches my eye. I pick it up and begin thumbing through it.

Blue Moon Bed & Breakfast

Blue Moon Bed & Breakfast

Greta and Gabby made their way to Page Turner’s Bookstore just down the street from the Blue Moon Inn. Once inside the warmth of the large shop, Greta was surprised to see a bright modern shop, which included not only a metaphysical section, but my children’s section, too. With soft upbeat music playing in the background, it didn’t take long to find the shopkeeper chatting away to a rather wild looking dog by a fireplace.

Hello, so I just finish the 1st chapter, honestly, I think you introduced too many characters in the first chapter, why don't you focus on the MC and the husband and wife first. You can introduce the other staffs later when they play a role in the chapter. Good luck!

I love the way you tell us about all the different people that are going to be in the book. I like how each chapter is about one set of characters and how they are part of the whole tapestry of the story. Love that there's a Boggart in your book, they really are very mischievous but don't mean harm.

Though a Mirror Darkly

Though a Mirror Darkly

“Thanks. Gonna need brain-bleach to get rid of that image.” Cassie chuckles and takes a half-bow. “My pleasure.” I sigh, doing my best to repress images of Martha Wilkins (all three-hundred pounds of her) enjoying the latest Mills & Boon novel, say Midnight in the Desert, Midnight in the Summer, or, predictably, Midnight in the Harem. “All right, then. You’re free. Nothing coming until Monday morning. Got a shipment of comic books due. The York Book Emporium from Pennsylvania is sending us some of their overstock.”

The Secret Billionaire I Married

The Secret Billionaire I Married

"Let us go meet her." Chicago was a five hour drive. Liam drove. Anna sat in the back. I navigated. The rain followed us the whole way. Grey skies. Grey roads. Grey everything. The bookstore was called "Pages." It sat on a corner between a coffee shop and a flower store. The windows were full of bestsellers. A sign on the door said "Open." We walked in. Bells jingled. The smell of paper and old wood wrapped around me. Shelves stretched to the ceiling. A cat slept on a pile of romance novels.

FAKING LOVE

FAKING LOVE

With that conviction buoying her stride, Megan rounded the next corner only to pull up short at the sight of the modest storefront just ahead - Quintessential Books & More emblazoned cheerfully across its weathered exterior. Perfect timing. Shifting her sundry parcels once more, she surged forward with a determined gait, bound and determined to accomplish friend's silly errand with peak efficiency. ... I entered the quaint bookstore, the little bell over the door announcing my arrival. My eyes scanned the neatly arranged shelves, searching for Lilly's ridiculous romance novel. A kindly older woman emerged from the back room, smiling at me. "Hello dear, can I help you find anything?" "Yes, ac

My One and Only: The Youngers Book 4

My One and Only: The Youngers Book 4

A clockmaker on one corner and a handmade jewelry boutique on another. Tourists and locals alike mingled and strolled. The area was particularly busy lately due to the influx of cast and crew working on The Last Goodbye. Lucy wandered into the local bookstore to peruse the shelves. The interior smelled like ink and paper, and a fat gray cat lounged in a bed near the old-fashioned cash register. When Lucy scratched behind the cat’s ears, its tail swished but it kept its eyes closed. A few other people were inside, but it was so quiet that Lucy felt like she was entering some kind of sacred shrine. Or a library on steroids.

House Of Fire - Book One of Seven Series

House Of Fire - Book One of Seven Series

A bell jingles when I walk into a book store called “Jinx’s Magic Shop” and my nose is immediately assaulted by the smell of stale books mixed in with a lemon-scented air freshener. Moving away when someone tries to exit the store, I look around and admire the place. It looks pretty causal, with lines of shelves surrounding every corner of the left side of the room and comfortable sofas on the other. The crowd in the store is pretty small, with only a few settled down as they quietly read, and situated in the middle is a large desk occupied by a young brunette with glasses. There’s a computer on the desk and its surrounded by a lot of books heaped upon one another, she raises her head and sm

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

" - While Ashley's boat had left the busier parts of the Quark River, Charlie never noticed his closest kin had drifted gracefully past him into the distance. He and Claire were still strolling down the banks of the Quark River, and arriving at the bookstore where the Calligraphy and Painting Association was holding an event. Children were flocking around, eager to guess the answers to the riddles the staff were handing out. There was a small stall filled with dolls, toys and other little gimmicks that would be gifted to anyone who got the answer. Jacob was actually diligent at work for once, his jokes making all the children around him laugh. On the other hand, Elaine clearly wasn't a fan o
