I Saw You

I Saw You

I listened and when the clicking stopped I let out a heave. “Let’s go back to business.” I told him. He smirked and closed his eyes. He inclined down pouting his lips. I chuckled and passed through him shaking my head. I searched for something I didn’t know. I ran my fingers on the tons of book in the shelf. The books were all about politics and the island of VeM. “You like teasing me around huh?” Grip pinned me against the shelf. He put his right hand on the side of my head. I turned around and faced him.

The Politician

The Politician

Although defeated in the election, Henderson remained the party leader while Lansbury headed the Labour group in parliament—the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP). In October 1932 Henderson resigned and Lansbury succeeded him. In most historians' reckonings, Lansbury led his small parliamentary force with skill and flair. He was also, says Shepherd, an inspiration to the dispirited Labour rank and file. As leader he began the process of reforming the party's organisation and machinery, efforts which resulted in considerable by-election and municipal election successes—including control of the LCC under Herbert Morrison in 1934. According to Blythe, Lansbury "represented political hope and dece

Five Mates? The Alpha Brothers' Golden-Eyed Luna

I frowned, “Alright, thanks.” Making my way to the library, I went to the nonfiction area and began my search. If I could find what I was looking for here, then I'd be happy. I pulled one book out and glanced at it. It read, ‘Politics’, it wasn't what I wanted so I dropped it back. I pulled another one out and was about how to buy your time, authored by Dan Martell.

Loved this book! The characters are so real and you want everything to work out for them. The author has a wonderful way of making them come to life for you. And if you’re like me I can picture them and the scenes she creates in my mind. I have read this book from front to back at least 4 times!

The Rise of the Half-Rank Wolf

The Rise of the Half-Rank Wolf

Midnight Nightingalescarred wolf queen
I once again looked at the books Lady Aleria had given me, whispering to myself, "Politics." Aleria nodded. Politics was indeed a challenging field of knowledge, accessible only to intelligent individuals who could navigate the complexities of power. Understanding Lady Aleria's intent, I realized she wanted me to be smart enough to stand on equal ground with others, to avoid being manipulated, and to become the master of my own destiny. I recalled Ulric’s story about Aleria’s past, and I was determined to fulfill the trust she had placed in me. I committed myself to reading and learning from the books she had given.

Alpha's Caged Mate

Alpha's Caged Mate

Bren laughed and cleared a space for Ava to take a seat, “Sometimes it doesn’t feel too far off, but most of these books aren’t for my classes. They’re for you?” “For me?” Ava cast a dubious glance at the pile, “Oh, Bren. That’s sweet of you to think of me, but I just don’t know how much I’ll really get out of…Democracy and the Cartelization of Political Parties.” Bren shot her a look of her own and set that particular book aside, “That one actually is for one of my classes. But never mind that it’s not about the books, it’s about what’s in them.” “What did you find?”

I added, and he nodded slowly. “That’s right.” He uttered sadly. “Let’s change the topic. Will I be able to find books related to politics and royalty in the library?” I asked. “Yes, of course. It’s a library. There’s a particular book titled ‘How to be a Successful King’. I think it’s Lucian’s favorite.” He answered, and I raised my eyebrows. “So he gets it from a book?” “Well, he’s naturally intelligent, so the book doesn’t do as much as you think it does.” He told me.

The Alpha's Cursed Mate

I heard him end the quiet, just now acknowledging how I lost myself in thinking. I lifted my head and stared at his scrutinizing look, and allowed my eyes to fall onto the book again before replying, "Certainly not, this book has it all: class conflict, politics, religion, women’s rights, and passion. It makes you think, it makes you reflect on what was and it makes you ponder how we got from one point to another." I expressed it without holding back. I found it refreshing to pour my mind out to someone who doesn't totally detest me.

Mated To My Alpha Stepbrother

Mated To My Alpha Stepbrother

Andrea asked again. "Ohhhhh!" I started summarizing what I had read. The book he gave me to read was a book on politics and power, the basis of what every leader ought to know. Andrea watched me silently as I explained everything I read, and when I was done, a small smile of satisfaction appeared on his lips. "Very good then; you have done well," Andrea praised me. It felt nice to hear him praise me. I blushed as I let out a small thank you, which I was not sure he heard or not.

She said, pointing her index finger towards the direction of the book, her voice firm and unwavering. Drigo glided across the room and got the book for her. He placed it in her palm gently before going ahead to say…. "If you really want to stand out in political matters, this book is a good foundation to build on." Micah glanced at the book. "Do you think I look down on you?" She asked, her gaze darkening. Drigo shrugged lightly before turning away. "I am a historian; I am only good with books, not in reading people's minds." Micah's grip on the book tightened; she took in a deep breath….
