After a few seconds, Saint came to the door and opened it. “I fucking knew it couldn’t be anyone from this fucking motel,” Saint said as he hissed in annoyance. He proceeded to slam the door in my face, but I stopped him with all the strength I could muster. “We need to talk, Saint,” I told him with dread in my eyes.

Boma, desperate to make him understand, pleaded, "Donovan, I swear. I've never even spoken to him before today. I don’t know him. I don't know why he did this." His face remained stern, unconvinced. "You need to be very careful. I won't tolerate any trouble because of your actions." Boma was shocked by his accusation. Her fear had already given way to anger. "I've told you I didn't do anything." She shouted and paused at his disapproving gaze. "Are you ok?" His tone told her he wasn't asking about her wellbeing. She understood it was another way of asking who gave her the guts to raise her voice at him. It was a well-known slang in the country that showed the asker was livid.
