POV Xander Saint “ Hey Babe.” Shane said. He said it mockingly. After what she told me about what he and Weston did I fucking lost it. Between the sounds of him grunting, bones breaking, and Bella’s screams I was lost in a fog. I felt hands pulling me away and someone said, “ Holy fuck, he almost killed him!”

“What are you doing? I thought we were on the same team. What are you playing at?” Santiago just chuckled, low and cruel. “Poor thing,” he said, mockingly stroking my hair with the barrel of his gun. “You should really get an award for being so gullible. So fucking stupid.” Dread twisted in my gut, spreading like poison. Santiago’s gaze flicked to Vincent, his smile stretching into something vicious. “As for you, brother,” he drawled the word like it was something filthy, and I saw Vincent’s face darken.

“Don’t worry. You’ll die like kings. Flying very high.” He nodded at Silvio and Dante. “Hang them.” There were thick iron ropes anchored to the wall—cruel contraptions meant for punishment. The men were hoisted up like slaughtered livestock, bodies dangling and faces contorted in agony. “I don’t know which of you disgusts me more,” Luciano said, voice darkening. “The rat, or the Bratva bastard.” He paused, fingers tapping against the holster of his gun. “But then again… maybe one of you deserves to live.”

I was firing on all cylinders and dozing off simply wasn’t an option right now – or for the foreseeable future. “Dude,” he muttered, casting a glance towards the shelters, “did I hear you call the Luna by her name earlier?” I forced myself to hold his gaze, though I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole. Well – maybe not really. I’d come too dang close to that happening for real. ‘Yeah, buddy, I think that’s a saying you can cross out of your notepad,’ said Bo, with the air of someone inspecting their nails. ‘I don’t have a notepad full of sayings I like,’ I lied, too quickly.

He said an amused expression on his face. "I thought you were dead," I heard my tiny voice ask. He laughed at that again. "I told you Greco to disappear and never come back." I heard Saint say. "Why disappear when you can join forces with the Fontanas and Matrix as well" My uncle replied. Matrix. That name again. Saint's face was reddened at this moment and he shot a gun at my uncle who dodged it before it could hit him. My uncle was unarmed and had no guys with him. So he didn't fire back.

“Ain’t she a bit young for you?” “She is. But she doesn’t seem to mind,” I replied. “I gotta say. You two are cuter than a puddle of puppies,” she said. Something niggled at the back of my mind. That was an odd phrase. “Thank you.” “Don’t thank me yet. We ain’t in Austin, yet.” She turned to concentrate on the road. Puddle of puppies. Puddle of puppies. It was such a weird saying. But I’d heard it before, which made it even more odd. Where had I heard it before?

"Off. Douchewad." He laughed right before he popped away again. Right before other hands cradled me against familiar chests. "If you didn't want the spankings, all you had to do was say no, honey. Dying isn't the answer," Saint whispered in my ear. "If you die, you better take me with you." "Promise." I felt the rest of my body give out. I'm so sorry, I sent to everyone. Roars went up all around me.

Don Santiago haughtily interjected “if you want to spout nonsense, you will better die since you are not useful for my search of Mario” The Old Man chuckled, suddenly, several doors opened, and seven burly men emerged from the doors. They crackled their fists and glared at Don Santiago fiercely. Don Santiago furrowed his eyebrows, and swept his gaze over the seven burly men, that looked like bouncers in a club. His lips curled up “thrash” he mumbled, and shook his head pitifully. “Damn, bastard, you dare call us thrash, you will taste the brute of my fist” one of the burly men hollered angrily.

The woman’s voice crackles, making the foreign anger flare inside me. “The Doc is going to die if we don’t do something, so unless you have a better idea, fucking BLOCK ME!” “Fuck my life.” Saint growls. “Fine. Nighty night, Bronxy.”

I want to be closer to him. "Are you okay?" Saint asked as I just smiled. "Yuck! PDA!" Gavin complained. "Fuck you, Gavin!" "That's bad Saint. You can't fuck me, I'm not gay bro." Gavin seems to tease Saint but stoned in position when Saint threw him his fireball. "Shut the fuck up Gavin or I'll burn you to hell!" "Fine! Fine! Sorry." Gavin nodded. "Who the fuck are they by the way? This is not your house Gavin!" Saint shouted.
